Glance
I think of you
On cold mornings when my coffee cup
No longer warms my hands
When the rain pitter patters
On the tin roof outside my window
And I'm out of my last drink
You are a sentence in a book I read
Lyrics in a song
I can't bring myself to sing
You are a face in a crowd
On the sidewalk down the street
When I look into a stranger's eyes
It is yours I wish I could see
Corinthians 13:4-8
This simple passage conveys for me the essence of life. When I am uneasy or unsure of how to act, I like to go back to it:
Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.

Everyone on the planet is just another number, and our value is determined by the above problem.
Allow me to break it down.
Life's equation is made up of three things directly related to each other -
the sum of your thoughts, the product of your environment, and the quotient of your actions, all at once.
They determine the answer.
But these sets of numbers aren't fixed.
Their values can be positive, negative, or maybe even a neutral zero.
Because there's no one right solution set for life.
And in any equation, the only thing that matters is the variable.
You.
The only instructions for the ultimate equation?
