That One Kid
Memory Recovered- That One Kid

Playing Memory...
“Hey, Lolo. See that kid over there?” A black satyr said as he tapped my arm as I was eating my sandwich.
I swallowed the food in my mouth and said, “Yeah, why?”
“They need to be taught a lesson.” He said as he stood up and started walking that way.
“Leave them be, Midline. They aren’t worth it.” I said as I grabbed him with my tail.
He sighed and sat back down next to me. I finished eating my food, stood up and walked over to the trash can. I threw my trash away and started walking over to the 2 dragon like kids. I stood in front of them as I noticed they were a different.
“Hello, you two. Are you two new here?” I asked as I smiled and watched them lift their heads.
“Yeah, and?” The male asked as something red dripped from his teeth and his chin.
“Be nice, brother. He’s trying to be nice.” The female said as she had broth dripping from her chin.
“Who’s your teacher, you two?” I asked as I shook and my scales disappeared.
“Mrs. Reditha. Both of us. What about you?” The male asked as we heard the bell ring to go outside.
They changed into their human forms just as they swept away the crumbs off their laps. All of us walked outside and one of them fell on top of me. Then, I heard laughter and sarcastic sorries. They got up, and I stood up. I walked around them and the group of kids shushed themselves and took off in a hurry.
“No one messes with me or my friends. Are you alright?” I asked as I helped brush off the dirt off of him and he fluffed his hair.
“I’m fine. One of them brats tripped me. I am truly sorry for landing on you.” He said as we heard the bell ring once again.
We walked in the building and into the classroom that Mrs. Reditha was in. She welcomed us in as each of us walked through the doorway and changed into our scaley selves.
“Norah and Bow Horaldan. Welcome to the High School of Hybrids and Draginucous Purebreds, my dears.” Mrs. Reditha said with a smile.
Niramitra
“Niramitra is sweet, mother!” Deera snarled at her mother in the kitchen as Niramitra sat in the living room with her father.
“So, Niramitra. You love my daughter?” Drago, Deera’s father, asked as he stared down at Niramitra.
“Y-Yes, sir.” Niramitra answered as he fidgeted with his hands.
“I am going to give you only one warning. You hurt or even break my little girl’s heart, I will end you myself.” Drago snarled as he furrowed his brow angrily.
"Yes, sir. I understand very well, sir." Niramitra said as they noticed Deera and Lavender walked out of the kitchen.
Niramitra stood up and smiled as he took Deera's hand. He kissed her hand as she smiled with glee. Her mother frowned and her father glared as the couple walked out the front door. They ran off toward a cave in the mountains and he disappeared within the dark shadows within.
"Come on in, Queen Deera." Niramitra said as the cave entry lit up.
Deera walked in and saw a kitchen with cabinets that were destroyed to splinters and some that had doors hanging from the hinges. Deera looked around as she heard growling to her left. She looked toward her left to see a set of bars that held a creature same as her but smaller. It growled and disappeared within the shadows. They lived together for the next couple of weeks before something... actually, someone entered her life.
"I see you found the next experiment." A woman said as she stepped out of the shadows beside Niramitra.
"Who is she, Nira?" Deera asked as she stepped away from the cabinets.
"Yeah, Niramitra. Who is this measly young thing?" She asked as Niramitra smiled his wild grin.
"Jill, this is Deera or you can call her DF-92." He said as he grabbed her left hand and stuck it under a branding machine.
The red hot metal blazed as it came down upon the back of her hand and singed the skin as screamed. They lifted the branding metal and Deera snatched her hand away as she fell to the floor. Her hand burned without a doubt in the world. She stood up with tears in her eyes, and ran out of the cave as quickly as she could. Deera ran away as Niramitra and Jill watched her from the entrance of the cave.
Broken Down
Jasper and his friend, Layla, walked around the streets of Shelldera one fine afternoon. He walked into the street in front of his home and…
BAM!!
A chariot hit him and he laid on the ground, unmoving. The lady got out of the chariot and walked over to him and just stared down at him. Deera ran out of the yard and to the street. Blood started to pour from an unknown point of impact.
“What have you done? What have you done?” Deera snarled as tears ran down her cheeks when she saw Jasper laying on the ground.
“He appeared out of nowhere and I hit him. I am so sorry, ma’am.” The lady said as she took a step back.
Deera stood up and took a step back as Jasper sat up. He rubbed his head and looked at Deera, eyes black as the midnight sky.
“It has awoken to reclaim this world.” Jasper said as he stood up and pointed at Deera.
“Who is it?” Deera asked as she felt pain in her chest.
“IT HAS AWOKEN TO RECLAIM THIS WORLD!!” Jasper yelled as he shook his head and blinked until his eyes were no longer solid black.
“Jasper, my baby. Are you alright?” Deera asked as she just stared down at him.
Jasper’s skin was two different skin tones. His left side was a mocha color and his right side was a creamy white. He walked back toward the house as Deera talked to the woman that had hit him.
“Hello, Jasper. How was your walk?” Tara asked as he never looked up from cleaning the dishes.
“It was fine.” Jasper said as he started to walk up the stairs.
Tara nodded and Jasper walked up the stairs to his bedroom. He walked up to his door, opened it and walked in. He closed the door and walked over to a makeup table he kept in his room.
‘Time to get ready for school.’ He thought to himself.
He grabbed a tube of creamy white concealer and sat down in front of the mirror. He squeezed a little bit onto a small sponge and dabbed it upon his mocha colored skin until his face looked like a normal creamy white face. His eyes were the color of two dark green emeralds.
‘Is this what I have to do to fit in? Why do I do this to myself? Am I that ugly?’ Jasper thought to himself as he set the sponge in a cup of water.
He grabbed his white gloves from the edge of his bed. He put the white gloves on as he walked down the stairs. He grabbed his jacket and put it on as he walked toward the door. He put his hood up as he made a detour and grabbed a biscuit from the kitchen. He grabbed his backpack and thrown it upon his back. He ate the biscuit as he walked to school. Kids threw cans, rotten tomatoes and shoes as he walked. He got to the school doors as he wiped away the rotten tomatoes. He walked in and to his first class where someone else was.
“Layla?” He asked as all he saw was long hair.
“Who’s Layla?” The guy asked as he turned around and snarled at him.
“Oh, s-sorry. Sorry, Rusty.” Jasper said as he pulled his hood down over his eyes.
“Is your sister not here today? Good. That means I can whip your ass!!” Rusty, a long haired Moon Howler snarled as his 3 friends laughed.
Rusty lifted his fist to hit Jasper as he grabbed Jasper by his jacket. Iris walked into the classroom and she cleared her throat. It startled Rusty and he looked up to see Iris.
“M… Ms. Freedom, what a surprise. I was just cleaning his jacket off.” Rusty said as he let go of Jasper’s jacket and brushed it off.
“Leave him alone, Ruben. You know the rules.” Iris said calmly as she looked at Rusty.
Rusty bowed to her and went to his desk. Rusty sat down and started talking to his three friends. Jasper looked up at Iris and smiled. The bell rang for class to start and everyone flooded into the classroom. Iris taught the class some math and science before the bell rang. The bell rang for recess. They got out of the classroom and into the cafeteria. Jasper sat in a corner of the cafeteria as everyone stared at him. He didn’t mind them staring and talking about him. After lunch was over with, all the kids went outside to play. He was playing tag with the other kids when all of sudden, someone pushed him to the ground. He landed face first into the dirt, and it ended up wiping away some of the makeup he had on. Blood trickled down his lower lip.
“Come on coward! Get up and fight me!” Rusty snarled.
“I’m not a coward, Rusty.” Jasper said as he sat up and looked down at the ground.
“What’s wrong, stupid? Too scared to fight?” Rusty asked with a chuckle.
“I am not stupid. I refuse to fight you.” Jasper said as he faced Rusty.
Rusty and the rest of the class gasped as they saw the makeup on his left side show mocha colored skin. Rusty backed up a little bit as Jasper took his gloves off and wiped away the concealer to show his half mocha colored skin.
“What are you?” An Elven girl asked as she stared at Jasper in astonishment.
“I am a Draginucous Hybrid. My momma has mocha colored skin and my daddy has creamy white skin.” Jasper said as he looked at Rusty.
“What are you gonna do, half-wit?” Rusty asked.
“Nothing. I’m proud of my skin. I’m tired of covering my mocha skin to try to fit in. I’m tired of trying to cover up who I am. Either you can like me or not. That is up to you.” Jasper said as he looked at Rusty, who was cowering.
The rest of the school day went by without a hitch. Iris and Jasper walked home with no one to disturb them. They got to the door and walked in. Jasper dropped to his knees just as Iris started up the stairs.
“Are you alright, Jazzy?” Iris asked as she stopped midway up the stairs.
“Y-yeah. I’m alright.” Jasper lied as he stood up.
Iris was satisfied with Jasper’s answer as he stood up and walked up the stairs. He walked into his bedroom and closed the door. The room got dark on its own as he laid on his bed and curled into a ball. His stomach twisted and turned as he writhed in pain and tears slid down his cheeks. Hours went by and there came a knock upon his door.
“Who is it?” Jasper asked as the pain in his stomach continued.
“It is your older brother, Commander Lolo Darius Freedom. Thy family is waiting on thy young Dragon Kin. Will thy come down for dinner?” Lolo asked as the door muffled his voice a little bit.
“Well then, I shall come down and eat with thy family.” Jasper said as he put a hoodie on.
He opened the door to see Lolo standing there, in his white uniform. Jasper looked at his brother in confusion. Lolo led Jasper down the stairs to the dining room where Iris, Tara, and Deera were sitting. Jasper smiled a little as the pain in his stomach never ceased.
“Happy Birthday, Jazzy!” Iris yelled as she made it rain confetti.
“Happy 6th Blood Moon, Jasper.” Deera said with a smile.
“Thy baby has become a child. We shall celebrate this Blood Moon by slaying thy cake!” Lolo said with excitement.
“Thank you all but, I would like to go back to my room. I had a rough day today.” Jasper said as pain seared through his stomach.
“Is something the matter, Jasper?” Tara asked as he looked at Jasper with concern.
“No, sir. I’m alright.” Jasper lied as he noticed that Iris stood up and had her spear.
Jasper pushed Lolo away and took a few strides to the left. Jasper looked at them with eyes as red as the blood red sky.
“No us atreviu a tocar-me, jove mortal. Posa totes les teves armes abans que et destrueixi. Don’t you dare touch me, young mortal. Lay all your weapons down before I destroy you.” Jasper said in Catalan as he pointed at Iris.
“Jasper, baby. This isn’t the time to play games.” Tara said as his spell book and his staff.
“El meu nom ja no és Jasper. Em dic Niramitra, Tara Tarantula. Assassinat Deera, el meu vell amic. Acompanya’m mentre torno a fer-me amb el món. My name is no longer Jasper. My name is Niramitra, Tara Tarantula. Assassinator Deera, my old pal. Join me as I take over the world once again.” Jasper said as he held his hand out toward Deera.
“Aye, Niramitra. Why are you trying to take the world for your own sake?” Deera said as she stepped back away from him.
“Playing hard ball, my dear. Think of the possibilities if you ruled by my side. What do you say, Queen Deera?” He said as a golden crown with rubies upon it showed up within his hands.
“I… umm. I want to but, what would happen to my family and my kids and… Tara?” Deera asked hesitantly.
“The kids would be treated like royalty. Tara, can be used for something. A small king or a pawn would suit him. I give you my word, Deera.” He said as he bowed to her.
“I won’t join you, Niramitra. Tara is my lover and I am his.” Deera snapped at him.
“Have it your way, Deera Safiyyah Freedom!! I shall see to it that you and your family is destroyed!!” Niramitra snarled as the body he used collapsed to the ground.
Jasper sat up and looked at Deera, Iris and Tara.
“What happened?” Jasper asked.
“Niramitra is on the loose. We need to be ready for anything he throws at us. Carry your weapons upon your back so you can counter whatever he sends your way.” Deera said as she grabbed her scythe from her back.
She is Gone
As she laid on the bed in the hospital, limbs unmoving. Machines helping her breathe and maintaining her body. No sparkle in her eye left. I couldn't do anything to help her. They took her to do a CT Scan and I paced the room, then sat down and rocked, back and forth, back and forth. I was on the verge of Hyperventalating. My world was falling apart. I didn't know what to do without her.
They brought her back to the room and said, "She is brain dead"
We said, "Pull the plug. She doesn't desrve to be a vegetable hooked up to wires and machines."
They pulled the plug and I laid on top of her, hugging her for one last time. I cried my eyes out as her body no longer was warm. Her body was lifeless and there was no need for her to be a vegetable.
My best friend was my older sister, Renada R. Riggins
Doubt and The Great Escape
“I doubt that’s how it’s supposed to work, Safiyyah.” Flower, my youngest sister, said as she watched me mess with the fridge that went out recently.
“Shut up, Dummy! I know what I am doing.” I snapped at her as I messed with the wiring.
I hooked one wire up to the motherboard and heard the fridge running again. I smiled as I stepped out from behind the fridge. Celestial walked in, heard the fridge running and pointed at it.
“Has the repair man come by already?” Celestial, another sister of mine with golden streaks in her white hair, asked as she leaned up against the counter.
“Nope. Safiyyah here thinks she can fix anything, including the fridge that needs replaced, not fixed.” Flower said as she rolled her yellow eyes and flipped her short purple hair back.
I snarled as I launched myself at Flower. She and I tumbled through the doorway to the living room as I held her by the neck. I started putting pressure on her neck as I slammed her head to the floor and I had her pinned to the ground. She started tapping my legs and my body as my anger was past the limit it should be. I heard Celestial yell for help as she tried to pull me off of Flower. I felt another set of hands on me as Flower’s face started to turn purple. I felt them yank me upwards as Flower took a deep breath and started to cough. I started to wriggle through the hands as they spun me around and made me face them. I looked to see it was Celestial and Killer, the eldest brother who had golden hair, hold onto my arms.
“Calm down, Deera. She meant no harm by whatever she had said.” Killer said as he grabbed my face.
“Breathe, Deera. In, Out, In, Out. Calm down and breathe.” Celestial said as I copied what she told me.
I turned to see that Death was checking on Flower as our parents walked in from going to the store. They stopped by the door and dropped the groceries.
“What happened? ” Our Mama said as she walked over to Flower.
“Safiyyah fixed the fridge and I noticed her red eyes furrowed down when I said the fridge needed to be replaced instead of repaired. She yelled at me she had read the manual for that fridge over and over again. She lunged at me and tried to kill me by choking me to death.” Flower said quietly.
“Why didn’t you control yourself, Deera?” Our Papa snapped at me.
“I... I... I DON’T KNOW, OKAY?!?!? I doubt that you could have fixed the fridge.” I snarled at Papa.
I didn’t care at all. I felt tears running down my cheeks as I walked to the door. I grabbed my jacket, put the hood up and walked out the door. I slammed the door shut and took off running. I walked on the beach for awhile as I watched happy couples running, laughing and jumping around with no care in the world.
‘I doubt no one would like or even love me for... well, me.’ I thought to myself as I noticed something on the horizon.
“Boat!! Boat!! Everyone off the beach!!” I heard someone yell as people whizzed passed me as I watched the boat get closer.
As I watched it get closer, I started walking toward it. My eyes locked onto the boat as I heard my family yell at me. I felt someone grab my arm and I looked back to see it was Death. I pulled my arms out of the sleeves and walked away from him as my jacket dropped to the sand. I changed into my Draginucous form and took to the sky, sand flying from the gust of wind my wings caused. I flew to the boat and circled above it to see two men were dead and a man wounded with another man with a gun. I roared and dived down, grabbed the man with the gun and winked at the injured man to slow down. He slowed down to a stop as I flew upwards with the guy that had a gun. He screamed and yelled at me as I flew back to the beach. I landed on the beach and changed back into my human form as I held onto him.
“Take him away.” I said as I tossed the guy at a Police Officer.
From then on, I walked away, doubting everyone and everything they said. I trusted no one and no one trusted me. Papers were hung in the streets of Belguim, saying they want my head. I stayed hidden even from my family, and eliminated anyone who needed to be executed. My name has been changed so many times, I do not know my real name anymore. I walked into a Tavern known as The Wanted Flame. I kept my hood up until I sat down as a table next to a female elf named Reina. She was cleaning a cup when she made me a cup of Ale and set it in front of me with her magic.
“You okay, dear wanted fellow?” She asked me as I looked at the cup of Ale.
I ignored her as I took a big gulp of Ale and slammed the cup down onto the table. Everyone in the Tavern turned and looked at me. I felt their eyes digging into my skin. I took my hood off, spun around and glared at them. They turned back around and started talking amongst each other. I took a deep breath in then out as I turned back to the table I was sitting at.
“You wouldn’t understand my situation, Reina.” I said as the Tavern got quiet as I spun a strand of black hair round and round with my finger.
“Try that again, wanted fellow.” Reina said as she set the cup she was cleaning onto the table.
“What do you mean by that?” I asked as she filled the mug up with her magic.
“These fellas in here have been looking to get you for the reward money. They just don’t have the guts to capture you.” She said as she took a drink after she finished.
I felt a tap upon my shoulder and I turned around to see a guard from the Belguim Kingdom standing there. I scoffed motioned them to go away as I turned back around to the table. They grabbed my shoulder and spun me back toward them.
“Deera Safiyyah Freedom, you are under arrest for the murder of innocent lives all over Belguim. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do will be used against you in the court of law.” One of them said as they grabbed my left wrist.
“Well, shucks. I will cooperate with you from here on out.” I said as I stood up and they noticed that I had a scythe upon my back.
“Drop that weapon, or there will be trouble.” The Guard said as he moved his jacket aside, showing his gun.
I slowly grabbed my scythe from my back and brought it to my side. I grabbed it with my other hand near the blade and stared at him with a smile.
“How much trouble would I get into if I just hurt you and took off from here?” I asked as I smiled at them, still holding onto my scythe.
“Death sentence would be put on your trial file. Don’t get any bad ideas, missy. Cooperate or I will have to use brute force.” He said as I stood the end of the Scythe up, blade pointed toward him.
“What will I ever do without the help of my fellow wanted crew?” I asked sarcastically as I walked over to a table with a guy known as Skull Crusher and I ran my fingers across his back.
Skull Crusher stood up as he smiled at me. He and I have helped each other when we got into some pretty tight spots. He walked over to the guard and shoved him outside.
“Come here again and I will crush. Your. Skull. Understand?” Skull Crusher snapped as he stepped through the door.
He walked back through the door and slammed the door shut as the Guard stood up and took off running. Everyone cheered as Skull Crusher walked up to me.
“Thank you, Skull Boy. You are such a big help. Here’s your payment for helping me.” I said as I set a small bag of silver into his hands.
“No problem, Assassinator Deera. Get out of here before he comes back with more men. Take your silver and head to The Arid Land. There is a small town called Shelldera, live there and do not forget about your past. Hang your Scythe up and devote yourself to helping those in need. Remember us, all of us.” Skull Crusher said as he handed the small bag of silver back to me then, stroked my black hair.
I nodded, put my hood up and put my scythe onto my back. I walked to the front door and a knock came upon the door.
“Open up!! This is the Belgium Guards!!” A guard yelled.
“Hide in here, Deera.” Reina the elf said as she opened a door to the wine room.
She closed the door and walked over to the front door. I heard it open then, footsteps walking in and around the place.
“Where is she?” A guard asked as he walked to the room I was in.
“She’s not here, sir.” Reina said with a small stutter.
The door to the wine room started to open and I took a step back, knocking cups over. The door swung open and someone grabbed me by the hood.
“Let go of me!!” I snarled as I was thrown to the floor.
I grabbed my Scythe and swung it at them as I stood up. They backed away from me as I scrutinized them with my red eyes.
“Do you not know who I am?” I snarled as I put the scythe on my back and looked at them.
“Get her!” The Lead Guard yelled.
I slipped out the door and changed into my Draginocous form. I took to the sky and flew above the clouds in the dark of the night. I heard them yelling below me. I dove down and hid in a tree beside the beach. I changed into my human form and walked into a shop nearby. I bought a long sleeve shirt, pants and a jacket with a hood. I put that on and put my black hair into a messy bun. I bought a duffel bag and put my assassin clothing in it and made my scythe smaller. I put it in the duffel bag and boarded the boat named The Great Escape. As the boat left, Guards got to the dock and yelled at me to come back. I never looked back from then on. The boat got to the small town of Shelldera, docked and I walked off the boat. People here were friendly and didn’t care that I was different. The first thing I noticed was that Tara Diera was here and he noticed that I was here. He invited me to live with him and I said yes, of course. We have lived together in Shelldera from 1999 to the day.
The Evil Scheme Pt. 1
“Shadow Master, sir. How do you plan on taking over the world?” Dusty Feather, a Mage Shelldor, asked as he looked across a map.
“We need to get Iris or Lolo on our team. I have tried to defeat and kill Iris. She is strong willed like her father and her mother. I have learned that the hard way.” Shadow Master Dalton said as he paced the reddish brown room.
“She does have one weakness, though. The Book she Possesses is The Book of Dark Odyssey’s and Spellcrafts. I have witnessed her use a spell from that book.” The Devil said as he walked into the room.
“What you are saying, is that if we get our hands on the book, we can get Iris down here and on our side.” Shadow Master Dalton said as he stopped pacing.
“She will be on our side if we threaten her family if she doesn’t help us. Then, we can put a spell on her to make her our little puppet.” A Dark haired male named Virgil said as he leaned up against a wall.
“When did you get here, Virge?” Dusty Feather asked as he stood up.
“Eh, not long ago. Gather around the table. I have something that will blow all of your minds away.” Virgil said as he walked over to the table.
The Devil and Shadow Master Dalton walked up to the table. All three of them looked at Virgil as he reached into the bag that hung around his shoulder and to his side. He grabbed some kind of book and dropped it onto the table. They all looked at it then back at him, confused.
“A book?” Shadow Master Dalton asked in confusion.
“Not just any book. I stole the Book of Dark Odyssey’s and Spellcrafts from Iris’s room while she was going after the rest of her family.” Virgil said as he waved his hand above the book.
The Red Lettering on the book shown from the book. They all stared in awe as the book stayed on the table. Then, the ground/roof shook and the stalactites fell from the floor and they heard a roar. Virgil grabbed the book and put it in his bag as a shadow of an elf came walking down. The Devil, Shadow Master Dalton and Virgil stood up tall. Dusty Feather disappeared within a cloud of green dust. Then, Iris appeared around the corner.
“Such great timing, Iris. We should applaud you for your excellent timing.” Virgil said as he started walking toward Iris and slowly applauding.
“That’s not funny, old friend. Where is it?” Iris snarled at Virgil as she shoved him backwards.
He landed on the ground as he looked up at her. He scooted back a little bit and tried to stand up. Iris walked forward and shoved him back down with her foot.
“Where is it, Virgil?” She snarled as she changed into her Draginucous form.
She held him under her foot as she felt him laughing. He changed into his Draginucous form and shoved her backwards. He stood up and glared at her. She stood up and roared, making the stalactites shake. Virgil growled and lunged at her. She jumped up and over as he landed face first into the floor. Iris started laughing as she landed and turned to look at him. He sat up and spat out dirt.
“Both of you change into your elf form, now!” Dusty Feather snapped as he reappeared from thin air.
They both changed into their elf forms and walked to the table.
“I have a proposition for you, Iris.” Virgil said as he joined the others on one side of the table.
“What is this so-called proposition of yours?” Iris snarled as she notice Virgil reach for something in his bag.
“Join us and this book shall be yours day and night. No limits on what or how you use it.” Virgil said as he dropped the book onto the table.
“What happens to my family if I join you guys?” Iris asked as she recognized the book.
“We will leave them alone and you become our great leader.” Shadow Master Dalton said as he smiled at her.
“I will join you guys.” Iris said as she grabbed the book.
“Smile for us, my dear friend.” Virgil said as he had a handful of powder.
Iris smiled and Virgil blew the dust into her eyes. The powder hit her face and she tried to wipe it away.
“Iris Tatiana Freedom, you shall do what we say and demand you that you ignore family matters and help us thake over the world.” Dusty Feather said as he looked at Iris.
Iris looked at them and her eyes started to glow an ember color as she stood tall.
Will Iris take over the world or not?

Avalar’s Choices
Avalar
We ran from the forest and weaved through a bamboo forest. We got to the edge of the bamboo forest and I stopped everyone.
“Lay low.” I whispered and everyone knelt down.
“What do you see, brother?” White Feather asked me in a whisper.
“Something looks weird here.” I whispered to her.
I watched the mansion up ahead and noticed something dark flying around it. It swooped down and it landed beside the mansion. It looked toward me and started walking in my direction. Everyone started to panic, and they split into two directions. One set ran left, and the rest ran right. I rolled my eyes as they ran wide of the creature and to the mansion. The creature kept its eyes on me as it walked closer.
“Run, Feather of White Dove. I shall take care of this dull creature.” I said as my sword appeared out of thin air.
White Feather just looked at me like I was insane. I kept my eyes on the creature that was getting closer.
“Go!!” I yelled at her.
She jumped and took off running. The creature paid no attention as White Feather ran past her. It kept its gaze straight on me and stopped 30 feet away from me. I grabbed the handle of my sword and looked at the Draginocous. It was a light gray Draginucous that had one wing ripped. It changed into its human form with wings.
“Why are you here, disappointment?” She asked me as if I was an intruder.
“Who ripped your wing?” I asked, ignoring her question.
“Answer my question!!” She snarled at me.
“Fine, bitch. Our leader asked for my friends and I to come back.” I snapped at her.
“He told me that you are not wanted.” She snarled at me.
“Enough!!” We heard someone yell.
We looked and saw our Master.
“Sir!! I am here. This… maiden… is blocking my path.” I said as I bowed to him.
“No need to bow, Pirateer. Ghoulia!! Back off, he is with us.” Master said as him and Flame Point walked up to us.
“Fine. He is a disappointment, though.” She said as she rolled her eyes.
She changed into her Draginucous form and took off again. Master looked at me as I took my hand away from my sword. He walked away and motioned for Flame Point and I to follow him. We followed him past Centaurs hauling carts in and out of a cave, Fauns harvesting and gathering fruits and vegetables, and Elves guarding them to make sure that they weren’t going to be hurt. WE walked into the Mansion and Master walked forward a few feet as Flame Point and I stopped right in front of the door.
“You two can come in. Pirateer, follow and meet me in my studies and Fire Distributor, start cleaning the main room. We have guests coming over.” Master said as he gave his coat to a Faun who hung it up immediately.
Flame Point nodded and walked away to another room. I followed Master to what looked like a room full of books. I wonder what they call it. He turned around and looked at me.
“Where is he?” Master asked me, faced away from me.
“Who is he?” I asked confused out of my wits.
“Lolo!! Where is he?” Master snapped at me.
“He went with his Master, sir. Why do you want him?” I asked him.
“He is key to our success. One White Draginucous is born every 1000 to 3000 years. It has been less than 1000 years. He is known as a Rare Peace Maker. Do you know who his Master is?” He asked me.
“N… no, sir. I do not know who his Master is.” I said with the utmost respect.
“What I want you to do is go find him and convince him to join us.” Master said as we heard the doorbell ring.
“Mafder!! The guests are here!!” We heard someone yell.
“I want you to go after you meet who we have as guests.” Master said as we walked out of the room full of books.
We walked to the front door to see two women. Master bowed to them and they bowed back. One was a blonde elf and the other was a Bicolored Moon Howler. The Moon Howler didn’t have a tail or ears. That was completely odd to me.
“Cloud Dancer and Heather. Thank you for coming on such short notice, my dears.” Master said as they noticed me.
“Is that a Heraldor?” The tall blonde asked as she looked at me.
“Yes, Heather. That is Avalar.” Master said as all three of them walked over to me.
“He is just a major hunk. I would love to have you in my room.” The one with a two-toned hair color said as she touched my chest.
“Now, now, Cloud Dancer. Leave him alone. He isn’t part of our discussion.” Master said as he touched her shoulder.
“Ugh, fine.” She said as the Blonde Heather walked behind my Master and she followed them.
“Follow us, Avalar.” Master said, startling me a little bit.
I followed them a little ways back. All 4 of us walked into the same room full of books that Master, and I had walked out of. I stood at the door as Master made a table and chairs appear out of thin air.
“Sit down, dear Cloud Dancer and Heather. Avalar, close the door and stand there.” Master said as he sat down at the head of the table.
I nodded and closed the door as the two women sat down at the table. I stood and listened to the conversation.
“Where is he?” Heather asked, starting the conversation.
“He will be here soon, and I know he will be.” Master said.
“Can we start discussing what we are going to achieve?” Cloud Dancer asked with a slight growl.
“Patience, young one. We have to wait for him to arrive.” Master said as the hairs on the back of my neck stood up on end.
“Master, he is here.” I said as I opened the door.
All three of them looked and saw… Shadow Master Dalton?!? All three of them smiled and he walked in. Luckily, it didn’t seem like he recognized me.
“Thank you, Avalar of the Seven Seas, son of Sinbad of the Seven Forests and Amilia Diera.” He said as he sat down at the table and I closed the door.
When he said that, chills ran up and down my spine. It wasn’t a pleasant feeling. It was more of an eery feeling.
“Shall we begin our discussion now?” Shadow Master Dalton asked as he sat down.
“Name the topic or topics you wish to be discussed.” Master said as he looked at Shadow Master Dalton.
“I want us to talk about trades.” Shadow Master Dalton said.
“Talk about strategy of take over!” Heather said as she slammed her fist on the table.
“Patience, young Elf. We shall discuss that soon.” Cloud Dancer said as she looked at Heather.
“What about trades, Master Dalton?” Master asked as he looked at him.
“Trade me your strongest Shelldor and/or Heraldor and I will lend you my services.” Dalton said as he set his hand on the table.
“The only one strong enough is Avalar. He is my only Heraldor. I wa… I mean, I need to keep him to help the others.” Master said as he glared at Shadow Master Dalton.
“Give him to me or my army will attack here next.” Dalton said as he stood up and the black goop changed into a boar man with a Morning Star.
“As I said he is a no. I can spare you some of my Centaurs.” Master said as he stood up and grabbed a book off one of the shelves.
“Attack him my minion.” Dalton said as the Boar man gave out an ear shattering shriek.
The Boar Man ran toward Master and Master didn’t know exactly what to do. I grabbed my sword, ran, and jumped over the table. I sliced the Boar man and made him shriek again. I laid my ears back and blocked his swing. He knocked me to the ground. He snorted and lifted his weapon above his horrid head to smash me like a bug. I kicked him in the stomach, causing him to stumble back a little ways. I stood up, ran toward him, and sliced his neck. The boar man turned into goop and I wiped my blade clean. I put my sword away, unpinned my ears and bowed to Master.
“Thank you, Avalar. Thank you for protecting me.” Master said shocked, as I walked back to the door and stood there.
“Rule 54, paragraph 5 states; Thy Master shall be protected at all costs no matter where, when, why, whom or how it happens. Thy Master shall be protected from those who decide to attack said Master.” I easily remembered word for word as I made my sword disappear.
“Smart boy you got there. I will take him.” Dalton said as he looked at Master.
“You can take him and… and White Feather too.” Master said as he bowed his head.
“Thank you, sir.” Dalton said.
“I object to that. Trading a being or two for work is illegal.” I said without thinking.
“Why do you object, Heraldor?” Master asked.
“As I said earlier with more explanation. Elaborating a plan that consists of trading one or two beings for work is illegal in and around the town of Shelldera. It is against the law. We are in the same county as them and we need to respect that authority rule.” I said as looked straight ahead.
“Somebody knows more than he should. He shall be taught a lesson.” Dalton said as some of the goop turned into a whip.
He swung it above his head and went to pop it when I blocked it with my shield. He looked at me stunned. My shield disappeared and I stood there, looked at him. He shook his head and walked over toward me. I pushed him back and glared down at him. He did fall to the ground and looked up at me.
“I would rather die than be part of your army.” I said as I looked down upon him.
“Pirateer Avalar, he is now your owner. You no longer work for me.” My old Master said as he bowed his head.
I looked at the books and found a book with my name on it. I grabbed it and opened it up. I looked through the book and found the paper my mother wrote out for me. I pulled it out and held onto it. I put the book back up on the shelf.
“No, sire. I dedicated myself to you and your cause. I am not to be traded off. That was in the deal we made.” I said as I walked up to the table with a paper in hand.
“What do you mean by that?” He asked as he looked at me.
“According to this deal WE wrote out, I hereby declare that Avalar of the Seven Seas is now owned by… look at that, it says your name. You signed it with Master Zoltar Crowfeather. Is this your signature?” I asked as I set a paper on the table and slid it toward him.
“Yes, it is. That is my signature on this paper.” Master said as he picked up the paper and read it again, silently.
“Can you read that aloud for all of us in this room?” I asked as I took a step back.
“I, Master Zoltar Crowfeather, hereby owns, Avalar of the Seven Seas, from now until he or I dies permanently. We bind thy two souls and I, Master Zoltar Crowfeather, shan’t sell or trade the one known as, Avalar of the Seven Seas, for traded goods or traded services.
Signed,
Master Zoltar Crowfeather
Avalar of the Seven Seas.” Master said as he read the paper that laid in front of him.
“Who wrote this?” Cloud Dancer asked as she snatched the paper and read it herself.
“My mother wrote it out for us. That is her hand writing except for the two names on there.” I said as I looked at Cloud Dancer.
“Then, it is falsification of a legal document to bind one to a master. Only a guard, Officer or Warrior can write these.” Heather snapped as she looked at the paper then at me.
“My mother, Amilia Curter Diera, is a Warrior of the Southern Forest. She protects your sorry ass from monsters and other dangerous creatures from attacking the Village.” I said as I pointed at Heather.
“I… umm… I… uh… d… didn’t know that. I… I am so sorry to say this was a false legal paper.” Heather said as she bowed her head.
“Do you know what a Heraldor is, my dear Heather?” I asked as I saw Cloud Dancer’s hand shoot up.
“N… no, I don’t.” Heather said as she wouldn’t look at me.
“What is a Heraldor, Cloud Dancer?” I asked as I smiled at Cloud Dancer.
“A Heraldor is a hybrid between an Elf and a Shelldor. His father is the undefeatable Sinbad of the Seven Forests and his mother is Amilia Diera, the Greatest Warrior of all Time. Avalar is a phenomenal fighter, like his parents.” Cloud Dancer said with pride as she stood up.
“How do you know this?” Master asked her.
“I… umm… He just showed us not to long ago.” Cloud Dancer said as she covered up the truth.
“Okay? Anyways, sorry that I cannot give you Avalar. You can have White Feather though, Dalton.” Master said as he looked at Dalton.
“He cannot have her, Master.” I said quicker than I could bite my tongue.
“Why is that Avalar?” Master asked me as all four of them looked at me.
“I love my Shelldor sister. She can beat any mister. She shan’t go with him. She will always agree with my whim. She will not go unless I am with her, no?” I said with an easy rhyme and rhythm.
“What does that mean, Avalar?” Master asked me as confusion settled upon his face.
“What I mean is that White Feather and I have grown up together and we are awfully close. She wants to be anywhere that I am. She is loyal and I tend to keep her that way.” I said as I stood up tall.
“Where is White Feather?” Cloud Dancer asked as she looked around.
“She is in the Healer’s Den next to the field.” I said as I looked at Cloud Dancer.
Then, the ground shook, and I fell to the ground. I was up and out the door before anyone could say anything. I ran out the front door and saw White Feather as the dust started to clear. I was relieved to see her, and she was checking to see if all the centaurs were okay.
“What in the bloody hell was that?” I heard Master ask as he slid to a stop beside me.
“Master, sir. The mine collapsed. Most of the Centaurs got small injuries from the fallen debris. All six of them got out before it collapsed completely.” White Feather said as she finished healing a centaurs arm.
“How long until we can have another mine up and running, Avalar?” Master asked with a little irritation in his voice.
“We have to find another spot for mining, then we can start on an opening to set tracks up. It will take 6 months before we can start mining again, sire.” I said as truthfully as I could.
“Chieftain Flame Point!!” Master yelled.
Next thing I knew, Flame Point was beside me. I bowed to him and he bowed back.
“Take the centaurs home and come back here immediately.” Master said as he looked at Flame Point.
“There are so many, sir. Can I have Avalar and White Feather help me, sir?” Flame Point asked.
It caught me off guard and I snapped my head toward him. I looked at him confused out of my wits.
“Sure. Take two centaurs a piece and take them home.” Master said as he walked away from all of us.
“Yes, sir. White Feather!! Avalar!! Come with me!!” Flame Point said as he motioned for White Feather and I to follow him.
We got to where the centaurs were, and we looked at Flame Point. He started pacing back and forth.
“The mine was my fault. I was in charge of what each centaur mined. I should have told them to haul what they had out and put them all in packages. What have I done?” Flame Point asked as he paced.
“It wasn’t your fault, Chieftain Flame. It was mine.” A small soot covered, golden centaur said as she walked up.
Flame Point said as he stopped pacing and looked at her.
“I told them to keep mining. When the mine roof started to fall, I told them to grab the carts and run. Please don’t tell master.” The little centaur said as she looked up at us.
“Avalar, take the two males. White Feather, take to the two females and I will take the two pony centaurs.” Flame Point said as he separated everyone.
Avalar went toward the North, White Feather left toward the East. I went South with the two zebra striped males. They followed me and I could hear them talking.
“Wow, we centaurs are so lucky to go home now. I cannot wait to see my wife.” One of them said.
“I know, right? I am surprised he’s not letting everyone go home.” The other one said.
“Enough!! Here is your homes and now I shall be headed back.” I snapped at them as I walked past them toward the North.
“What a jerk.” One male said and I froze in place.
“What did you just call me?” I asked him.
“A jerk, why?” The other male said as I turned and looked at them.
“I am not a jerk. I was just stating the facts. I don’t get to go home unless I get permission from master. I…” I broke off when I picked up a familiar sound like a scream from someone.
I took off back toward the North at a dead run. I wasn’t watching where I was going until something ran into me. I landed on my face and slid a couple feet. I remember lifting my head up and looking around. I spat out dirt, leaves and small twigs from my mouth as I sat up. I stood up and walked away, still Northbound. I saw Master talking to Flame Point and White Feather. I walked toward them as they noticed me. I fell to the ground and I blacked out. I woke when someone was shaking me, and I saw that it was Flame Point. I felt a sharp pain in my left side as something was pulled from my skin. I looked to see that White Feather had pulled out some kind of quill. The pain went away, and I stood up. Master was standing there as he looked at me and then, hugged me. He let go and nodded. I followed him to a cart, and he had me grab it as we all walked to the field of gold and started harvesting. I heard the same scream as I harvested the wheat alongside the Fauns and Moon Howlers. I kept hearing it until, I finally tuned it out as I tied the bundles of wheat together and hauled them to the carts. I looked over to see that Flame Point and Master were sitting under a tree near the field, in the shade. I kept working in the field as I sweated and worked beside them. I never looked back at them until…
The End…
For now!
Show and Tales
A few days went by as Deera sat and Tara paced the floor in the waiting room.
“I have a tale to tell you, and the tales are true.” Deera said to another young lady in the waiting room.
“Honey, I don’t think she’s interested.” Tara said as he sat down next to Deera.
They were waiting and hoping for Iris to come out of the Operation Room.
“Since, I am waiting to see someone, I would love to hear a tale.” The young lady said.
“Well, if you say so. Let me tell you about my daughter and how she ended up in the Operation Room. She decided to take on The Flame Wolf by herself in place of us. She didn’t exactly end up defeating The Flame Wolf but, she apparently fought hard against him.” Deera said.
“Not hard enough. She knows that her magic is strong enough to defeat the Flame Wolf. Why didn’t she use her magic?” Tara said as he looked at Deera.
“Shush, Tara. You are ruining the tale I am telling. Where was I? Oh, yes. Then, my husband, Tara and I decided to go find her. We found her in the Under World, defeated the Devil and she ended up hurt. She lost a lot of blood but, I hope they can fix her soon.” Deera finished as a set of doors opened and out came Dr. Blue Blood, taking his rubber gloves off.
Tara and Deera stood up. They walked over and Deera was just a ball of nerves.
“There is good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?” Dr. Blue Blood asked.
“Give us the good news.” Deera said anxiously.
“The good news is that she survived. She will be able to live her full lifespan. She fought us over the last few days and has ripped her stitches out once or twice. We replaced the blood she had lost. She is fine for now. We have nurses watching over her 24/7. The bad news is that she will probably not have function in her left side. When she was fighting us, she asked us why she couldn’t feel her left side. She will wake up here in a few hours from the sedation we had to give her.” Dr. Blue Blood said as he looked at them.
“What is the chance of her not having any feeling in her left side?” Tara asked as he focused more on the no feeling in her left side.
“In her case, 80% is the chance of that happening.” Dr. Blue Blood replied with a sad tone in his voice.
Deera gasped and ran out of the office. The young lady ran after her.
“Is it alright if I go see Dar... I mean, Iris?” Tara asked.
“Yes, you may. Tara, Iris is in Room 1939.” He said as he left from in front of the doors and went into another room.
Tara went to room 1939 and saw Iris laying in the bed, all peaceful. He sat down and started reading the Book of Norawind.
Meanwhile, the young lady ran after Deera in the rain.
“Mrs. Freedom!! Please, wait up!!” She yelled after Deera.
Deera stopped and looked at the young lady as she got closer. The young lady stopped and smiled at Deera.
“I am Iris’s friend, Droopy Keelhill. I am the Red Draginucous daughter of Fire Fortess, the Red Draginucous Mother and Tall Tale Pete, another Red Draginucous.” She said as she pulled back her hood and Deera saw that she had red horns on her head.
“No... Way. Are you really, Droopy Keelhill?” Deera asked as she looked at her.
“Yes, ma’am. It is I. I know it’s been a long time since the last time you saw my mother and I.” Droopy said as she smiled her wicked smile.
“Let’s go see Daru Daru. What’s your dragon name?” Deera asked.
“HELLENFIRE!!!!” They heard Fire Fortess yell from the sky.
Fire Fortess landed next to Hellenfire with quite a thud. Droopy bowed her head down.
“Why you run off? You better than that! You know better!” Fire Fortess snarled.
“Fire Fortess, dear. What are you doing here?” Deera asked.
“I here see Daru Daru.” Fire Fortess said as she turned into her human form.
Deera led the way back to the doctor’s office. They got in and Droopy and Fire Fortess sat down.
“I will go see if Tara is in the room with Daru Daru.” Deera said as she ran toward room 1939.
She opened the door and saw that Tara was holding Iris’s hand. Tara smiled at Deera as she entered the room. Iris’s left arm twitched as Deera walked closer. Iris opened her eyes and slightly smiled.
“Ma? Pa? Is... Is that you?” Iris asked.
“Yes, it is. It is your parents.” Deera said as she knelt on the floor next to the bed.
“M... Ma? Where is Hellenfire?” Iris asked.
“Her and her mother are here. They both want to see you.” Deera said.
“Not her mother... not yet at least. I want to see my friend first.” Iris said slowly.
Deera stood up and walked out of the room. She walked to the front and got Hellenfire. She took her in the room and Iris was sitting up. Hellenfire ran over to Daru Daru and hugged her.
“Deume un susto bastante. You gave me quite a scare.” Hellenfire said in Galician slowly as she started crying.
“Hey, hey. I am sorry. I didn’t mean to give anyone a scare.” Iris said as she lifted her right arm and held back the wince of pain as she hugged her back.
“Descansa, querido amigo. Rest, my dear friend.” Hellenfire said as she teleported from the bedside to the door and left the room.
Iris laid the bed back and laid down on it. She yawned and started falling asleep as she closed her eyes.
“Rest my dear daughter. You will need all your energy for tomorrow.” Deera said as she laid on the floor and fell asleep.
Tara casted a spell to keep the room warmer to what they needed to be more comfortable. He was used to it by now. He learned quickly that Draginucous types like the room warmer than normal. He smiled and slept in a chair that was nearby.
Iris woke up the next morning, sat up and stretched while Deera and Tara slept.
“Ma? I need to walk around.” Iris said as she pulled the sheets from her body.
Deera awoke with a slight startle, stood up and stretched.
“Alright. Let’s go.” Deera said with a smile.
Iris got off the bed and walked towards Deera. Deera caught her as she went to fall.
“Ma? Can you hold onto me?” Iris asked as she grabbed Deera’s shoulder.
Deera nodded and walked with her all over the office and across the halls. Iris smiled as they walked around. As they walked, the feeling in her left side started to return. They stopped a moment to rest when Dr. Blue Blood bumped into them.
“I see you’re up and walking. You are free to go home today. There is no charge for Iris.” He said as he took the ivies off of Iris.
Iris’s smile got bigger and she ran to the room to wake Tara. She got there and started shaking him. Deera stood in the doorway and watched them.
“Pa! Pa! Pa! Wake up!! We can go home!! Wake up!! Wake up!!” Iris said as she shook him.
“Wha... What? How is this possible?” Tara asked as he sat up and was still half asleep.
“Dr. Blue Blood said so and she’s healed quickly since she is half Draginucous.” Deera said with a smile.
Tara stood and grabbed his Staff of Riles and the Book of Norawind. All three walked out of that doctor’s office like a family instead of missing someone. They walked all the way home and headed back to bed to sleep in from the few rough days that had happened.
