Stay Firm

Stay firm against the waves of tribulation.

Don't let it bash against your solid foundation.

Don't let your confidence erode into nothing.

Don't let your past triumphs bring your guard down.

Bring your guard down, you will sink to the seafloor.

The menace of your life will stab you in the back.

Crush you into grains of sand till you are unnoticed.

Drown you with weights of hardships till you give up..

You can reach the land of milk and honey.

You will thrive in the new world of success.

You will go past the edge of your abilities.

You will inspire and hit the peak of your leadership

GLORY!_Fear.

Estelle tossed her weapons on the table top in the library. Something had bugged her all night. She heard someone calling her name. Why would the ghost of the being she had destroyed not too long ago now trouble her like this?

She searched the ever swirling pool of knowledge for answers. All she had to do was look into the crystal clear waters and search it’s unending pool for answers. When she looked into it, the water swirled and what she was made her eyes open up much wider. This was not right!

Her eyes fell on that similar face of her mentor. It looked like him, all right. But his wings were missing. And he did not look like the monster/demon she had faced before. What kind of sorcery was this?

There he sat in chains, pulling them with all his strength. She tried to reach it with her hand— then his image vanished. What ever was going on- she’d get to the bottom of it.

She could see the pain whoever had captured him had put him through. His back was severely bruised. They must have done something quite horrendous for him to have no wings on his back. She couldn’t imagine havign to lose her own wings. That made her shake in fear. Whatever She had to do to save her mentor, she would have to do it quick. Before it was too late! He had to be rescued from whoever had him captive.

stupid

Stupid, stupid feeling

She could barely breath

Though she was alone

Was it stupid

To hold hope so near

Shouldn't it be overshadowed by fear?

When she knew it would be the same

Time after time

It was always thoughts

churning

stomach

yearning

And truth

Broken

And nothing would

Be solved

And she'd still be alone

In that way

So shouldn't she just take what she has?

A friend

stupid feeling

A good friend

stupid

It's more than enough

More than she could ever ask

So how dare she ever

even

dream

When it's always going to be

Just a big

Stupid

Mistake

Map: Part III

The Story of the Map

(As told by Aaron Torres)

“This map once belonged to the great Fernando Buchante, a world-renowned explorer. He sailed the seas, collected treasure, and enchanted women. On one of his quests, he discovered a treasure too great and too powerful for anyone to possess. Believing he had no other options, he hid the treasure in a place no one would be ever able to find it.

“No one except the owner of this map, which he painstakingly drew the night before he sailed back Spain. The map details the location of the treasure, but even that isn’t enough, for Fernando had set up trials and puzzles along the trail. Only the true of heart can pass and reach the treasure.

“Still, Fernando was afraid that the treasure would fall into the wrong hands, and so he carefully protected the map until he knew who to pass it on to. Years and years went by, and Fernando became old and obsessive. He told anyone who came within earshot about the treasure, claiming he needed them to find it, needed them to get it for him, for he had become too frail to retrieve it for himself.

“At that point, no one believed him, and everyone wrote off his ramblings as the musings of a madman. But his youngest grandson, still enticed with the ideas of adventure and treasure, accepted the map from his frenzied Abuelo. Since that day, the boy’s family has been handing down the map, generation after generation, knowing that one day a young descendant of the Buchante line will finally stand up to the challenge and accept the treasure.”

After much enthusiastic gesticulating, Aaron finally put his hands down, looking to Rosie for her response.

She raised an eyebrow at him. “Let me guess. The young, handsome fellow that will finally find the lost treasure is you?”

He laughed, even though she stared at him blank-faced. “I didn’t say handsome,” he said.

“Well you should have, because every part of that story was romanticized.” She leaned forward, elbows on knees. “Did you say ‘only the true of heart can pass?’”

Her hair had fallen in front of her face, so she didn’t see him make a face at her in annoyance. “It’s true,” he said defensively. “I mean, no one thinks it’s real, but I think it’s worth a shot. What have you got to lose?”

Rosie shifted and looked at him with her dark brown eyes. “Nothing, I guess.”

Challenge
Relating to nature
This challenge was inspired by something I recently wrote called "No Swim Zone" (Go read it for reference) Take something in your life whether it be a failure, hardship, success, etc. And relate it to nature. Be as detailed as you want. Only requirement is that it relates to you and to nature. I will choose my favorite entry

Autumn Leaves

Like the bountiful leaves on fall trees,

The flaws of my family are abundant,

Rich in color, ranging from one aspect to another

The leaves bunch together,

Twisting around the gnarled branches

The problems multiplying one by one,

Until, finally, the leaves begin to break off

Plummeting to the frigid, packed dirt

Like a family lying in shambles,

Destroyed by the harsh climate of addiction

Eventually, those vibrant leaves will grow anew,

Ushering in birth, a fresh start for all involved

The only difference between the family and autumn leaves

Is the family will never have that new beginning

It is stuck with what has already grown
