Hybristophilia: the sexual interest in and attraction to those who commit crimes. Women who wrote Ted Bundy and Jeffery Dahmer while they were in prison are only one extreme on the spectrum of Hybristophiliacs. There are also women like my mother. Both of the fathers of her two children where criminals before, during, and after her kids were born. Now, I'm 23 and my mother has lost everything (including her kids) because she's fallen in love with yet another prisoner. A convicted murderer. I'm here to raise awareness of the kind of damage this kind of disorder has on the children born to the chaos of the incarcerated. My story is defined by my mother's strange and unimaginable attraction to inmates, and I am finally ready to open up and start telling it.
