Love to Requite
Love is sweetest and fairer still
When 'tis budding fresh and new.
Unexpectedly it fills our hearts
Like the arrival of morning's dew.
With wonder anew and intoxication
Within the rapture of its allure
We are wrapped in love's fulfillment
Sure forevermore our joy will endure.
Thus, each step we make is light-hearted,
Each thought filled with the utmost delight,
As with anticipation we rise and tread
Fully eager, our love to requite.
It Hurts
Hope has hands as rough as clay
with holes and cracks
that cut and bleed
Love, like Hope, prefers to hide
behind the lies that mend my cuts
and trickle easy down my hands
they are young girls
who hurt to hold
within chapped hearts
if only I could
stoke their fire
shield them from my blood-warm tears
then perhaps Dame Luck
would smile down
upon my bleeding heart
Whispers of the Heart
Without a name, I tread into -
the solstice of the soul,
where dreams—unfurled like petals—drip
in pools of pearl and coal.
I wander - through parentheses
and climb the ampersand,
where hearts writhe on the canvas of
life's intricate command.
Of Sun, the orchestrator, of
each atom's dance - I'm drawn
into the silent symphony
that weeps till dusk is gone.
Look! Truth is not - a simple line
but patterns, and they twist,
in rhythms, rhymes, and reckonings,
in fog and amethyst.
A universe in lower case,
no capital can cage,
inside our hearts, the stardust speaks
beyond the written page.
One need not shout to touch the sky,
or voice the silent prayer,
the whispers of the heart will find
their way to somewhere There.
Love is more thicker than forget -
more thinner than recall,
our souls, they hold the mystery
that dwarfs this earthly hall.
Emily Cummings; A Nursery Rhyme
In a world of whimsy, where dreams take flight,
Where stars twinkle softly in the velvet night,
A nursery rhyme weaves its magical tune,
In the land of wonder, beneath the moon.
A little mouse scurries, its tiny paws,
Exploring the meadows, without any pause,
Through fields of green, it dashes and plays,
In this enchanting world, where imagination sways.
A bee hums a melody, buzzing in delight, Collecting nectar, taking joyful flight,
Its wings flutter gently, a delicate song, A harmonious rhythm that lasts all day long.
The moon shines brightly, casting a gentle glow, Casting shadows on the earth below,
A friendly face, beaming in the sky, Guiding us with its light, as the night draws nigh.
A cat with a fiddle, a merry sight to see, Plucking the strings with a joyful glee, Its melody dances, filling the air, Creating a symphony, beyond compare.
A dish and a spoon, a playful pair, Dancing together, with a skip and a flair, They twirl and they spin, in perfect harmony, Their bond unbreakable, for all eternity.
So gather 'round, children, let your spirits soar, In this magical realm, where fantasies roar, Where animals talk and objects come alive, In the land of make-believe, where dreams thrive.
Let your imaginations run wild and free, In this whimsical world, where you can be, Anything you desire, anything you dream, In this enchanting nursery rhyme, let your heart gleam.
