For Tomorrow, I Die
Perchance, have you seen where I left myself
Entrapped in amber somewhere along my life's road?
Never moving, never striving, just waiting for the
Ultimate judgement. Now comes the final eve of my
Life, and I find myself looking backwards,
To a time when I was free, when I loved, when
I lived, when I drank deep from the ambrosia of life.
My eyes look back along that road, to where I became stuck,
And they leak tears of regret, for the life lived not,
Tears for the self I used to be, as I prepare to leave this mortal coil.
Eternity will be my judge, and I fear it will find me guilty.
