Moonbeams

Silver in my skull

The moon filters the sun

The pale light feels so cold

Me and the night are one

Moonlight in my head

Crack open my skull

Drink until your dead

Still the moon is full

Rise and dance with me

Catch the butterflies

They're made out of moonbeams

They want to kiss our eyes

Wrap the night around you

Breath in misty clouds

Shadows want to love you

Here love is allowed

We will dace together

Underneath the moon

We're alone together

Dreading the crowded noon

The night belongs to star children

Belongs to you and me

Don't listen to the sunburning

Voices that call you "freak"

The Sun can get inside you

It's glare obscures your dreams

But there is nothing you can't be

Bathing in soft moonbeams

Open up your mind

A gray dull empty pool

Open your starving mind

And fill it with the moon

Open up your heart

Plastic cold and hard

Open your empty heart

And fill it with the stars

Look into my eyes

Let me see your soul

The dark that they despise

Is oh so beautiful

The night and us must part

But the stars will warm our dreams
