Good Thing I like Maple Syrup
First, the elephant in the room: Donald Trump will be the next President of the United States. I am officially moving to Canada. But seriously, what is this country coming to when we can't even take our Commander in Chief seriously? Because I'm pretty certain that someday, future generations of kids in history classes are going to see what Trump did and ask, "How did this buffoon ever get elected into office?"
But all jokes aside, I actually consider this the better of the two outcomes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Trump fan: I think he's an obnoxious, sexist buffoon. And I don't trust either him or Hillary as far as I could throw them. But, as an Evangelical, I feel a bit safer with Trump than I do with Hillary. This is mostly because of the Supreme Court. The next president is going to choose 3-4(haven't seen the exact number in a while) Supreme Court Judges. Hillary was guaranteed to choose liberal judges, who would go far beyond the scope the Supreme Court and restrict freedom of religion. Did you know that technically, the Supreme Court can't even declare laws unconstitutional? In the Constitution, it doesn't say the can, so the power is given through precedent, not law. I think that's worth noting, at least. Meanwhile Trump, though he is definitely a wild card, has at least claimed he will choose more conservative judges. So there's slightly more light at the end of the tunnel. Twilight, as opposed to midnight, I suppose.
And, on a completely different topic, I stayed home from school today. No, I did not skip. I am actually sick right now. As far as my criminal activities, right now they are mostly confined to being the accomplice of others. I don't skip class or steal tomato plants on my own right now. So I don't have a lot to do today, so I'll probably end up actually doing my homework for once(none of my teachers collect it, so most of the time, what's the point?). So while I work on recovering from my mystery illness, y'all can get to work Making America Great Again! Have fun!
Disclaimer: I did not vote in this election. I missed the cut off date for age by like a week, so nothing that happens in the next four years is my fault. I get to laugh and make fun of the people who voted with a clear conscience.
