I never had a chance
Tired.
Tired of being tired
And sick.
Before even a senior in high school, I am a senior of body and soul.
Always old within, but now old without.
Fourteen and scared
Body aching
Hungover
Without ever being drunk.
Could it be cancer?
Vampires descend
Months of tests
Tracks up my arms
Yet no drugs
Finally answers
But only more questions
Moms should love and support.
Mine spits words.
Liar
Lazy
Why can't you be like your sister?
Of course you must go to school
It doesn't matter how much it hurts
No we won't go to the hospital for that
I don't care if the meds make you vomit
I don't care
I don't care
I don't care
Stop crying
It's just lupus.
