Forced To Awaken
A happy day, glistening sun in our way
A beautiful event as the trees set to sway
Amidst the masses of a million heads
It felt like a safe path to tread
A ride full of laughter, glee and game
In my naive world, none to blame
Soon turned into a silent scream
what happened was not a dream
I hustled around in the hazy dark
Strange faces around me looking stark
I could not rest nor could I rebuke
Fun died down replaced with spook
I was ready to fight, I was set to yell
A new angst in me shot from hell
Like falling into a pit of shards
I took each stride with no guards
As I almost ran in frantic speed
Remorseless faces and lustful greed
Staring down at me with fiendish eyes
It was a horror with unspoken cries
An anxiety I had never felt before
Haunted my feminity from that day forth.
I lost something and gained another
Gone was my innocence and then came terror.
