My Lightbulb(s) Stopped Working

Like a sound of a balloon being popped.

Like the sound of the light gone in an instant.

Without even a flicker or warning.

Just gone.

And by now half of the table is dimmer than the other

Because the other light

Also went out.

I didn’t notice.

So now I must wait

For Dad to come home and fix them

Not one but two.

I wonder how long it’s going to take the others to pop.

Will more of my table be swamped in black?

No, I’m just being dramatic.

But I can’t work in the dark.
