Schrödinger’s Lament (repost)

I don't remember his whole name

And barely his face

I only knew him years ago

In that oft forgotten place

They say he moved up north

To that kingdom called new york

Where giants walk the earth

And pharaohs go to work

We used to talk once or twice

A decade or a year

But now its been 15 whole years

And a second decade nears

I havent ever heard from him

Since giants kneeled to earth

Felled by airplanes from the sky

And fear saw its rebirth

I like to think he's doing fine

My existence just slipped his mind

I cant face the alternative

Which is that he no longer lives

Is his name among the dead?

Or only in my head?
