Dearest Self
Dear Self,
Deep in my heart you reside
A loving presence that cannot be bribed.
Despite wanderings of the seeking mind
You have patiently waited for me to arrive.
Everything I hoped to be
I already am.
Time could stop tomorrow
And we would continue to begin.
You must be laughing inside
As I tried to run away.
Chuckling "O child return to me. See who you are. See you are free."
"No I would shout," from under my bed. "You don't understand, the world out there, it is scary and sad."
Then you would start humming a tune
A melody of truth pulling me gently back into you.
Your love sincere, your presence so strong.
I feel I can do anything when I release into your arms.
Your compassion and willingness to serve another
Brings tears to my eyes, we are all brothers.
Your twinkling eyes and curious brows
The way you play like a child even in a crowd.
You are me
Your are them
We are all one
Beyond the end.
