Taken Prisoner

I'm locked in this prison,

A life sentence.

I'll never again know the beauty outside of these walls,

Beyond this cage,

What my life could have been.

I was innocent,

But for no apparent reason I am punished.

There is no escape,

And try as I might to break out,

I will forever be lost in this prison.
