Choices
I made a choice so long ago
and tried to change my mind.
They pushed me on and chose my path,
A horror story did unwind.
I made my bed
or so believed by words they threw at me.
But heaven knows the pain inflicted
when they couldn't see.
I kept the pretense,
acting sweet and all the while a wife.
A mother bear protecting cubs
from abnormal mental strife.
They ran away, but I was blamed
never seen as a victim at all,
I enabled, hurt and worried
kept the family in the hall.
It's time to make decisions now,
hard as they might be
To make my life, our lives
simple and pain free.
Words are weapons of your choosing
and you never see the damage
Of the hearts and people that you're losing
you blame everyone else out there.
Scared but sure of one thing now
to free my body and soul
a new life soon begins to grow
in my mind when the moon comes out.
I see it clearly, happy, peaceful
in the window of my mind.
Scared but sure, I'll get some helpand do it right this time.
