Enthroned
Many have asked, few have known
What makes us act they way we do
Many have said the mind has the throne
But I'm afraid that's just not true
While the mind may rule quite often
And over the body it has its way
Before emotion will it soften
It's iron grip that holds the day
When emotion rises from its slumber
The mind begins to fear
And to the throne it does lumber
The mind see’s it's end is near
It tries to resist, it tries to reason
But emotion will not hear it!
Emotion tries the mind with treason
And casts him into a pit
It sits back into the chair
And does whatever it may will
It does not care about what is fair
For logic it did kill
Sometimes it will bless the world with love
Sometimes it will destroy with fear
Sometimes it's as innocent as a dove
Sometimes it brings the devil near
Emotion is always reclass
Only one thing can keep it still
If you were the cross as a necklace
And call on God your need to fill
