Life was So Amazing Then

My favorite song is

"Kids Two" from Stranger Things

When I close my eyes and think of this song,

The first thing I see are illuminating lights, sparkling one by one like a disco ball

I see my love & I dancing on a magenta dance floor

I see my younger self from elementary school

Riding my bike as Mike, Dustin, and Lucas do

I can make up my own lyrics in my mind...

Remembering how free it felt to be a kid

Have enough time to go outside and play with my friends

Ride our bikes through the woods

Not having to stress about exams that determine our future

Life was so amazing then

This song also reminds me of the two children I anticipate for

With my love... their beautiful names already chosen

Still awaiting for their perfect faces to match their perfect names

I hope they receive that same freedom I did as a young girl

Be able to go outside and play like I did

Instead of today's children who are constantly on their technological devices

The most stress-free time of my life was 

Having picnics in the treetops and collecting earthworms after the rain
