Simplicity of War
A blackout of lights as power goes out.
A massacre of lives in a blink of an eye
History repeats what War has sowed
Mankind learnt but at a pace too slow
Along with words, bullets were shot
Along with pens, treaties were written
Tears and blood are still being shed
Can War tell, between innocent and bad?
Greed and wealth has driven us mad
Politics and fame a rising trend
Waging wars like an endless game
Is peace the price we pay?
The brave have fallen
The lost, forgotten
Like chips in poker, War is a gamble
The sacrifices of heroes do you remember?
We took to the streets to voice our fears
Our sincere prayers fell on deaf ears
Like witches to a stake, we had no say
The time has come for the world to change
Humanity is yet a very young race
Let us show a little kindness each day
Bombs and guns we will never need
War will one day, surely, cease to exist.
