Time capsule: Book 1
Ever since our leader was overthrown by another country, time seemed to stop. Everyday seems the same and nothing ever changes. Our country was in charge of the time capsule that made time run. Only a particular being or human could make it run. If someone else were to try to make it run, it just wouldn't work. I assume the time capsule is dissatisfied with its current owner. However, this doesn't seem to be a problem since everything is peaceful and quiet. Everyone is happy with how things are. I don't like it one bit. We stop aging yet we continue the days, we can't earn new skills no matter how hard we try to learn them, and we can't do anything different from the week before. Nothing improves and nothing decreases.
I hate to be the one who disrupts this peace, if you can even call this that, but I'm fed up with not being able to watch the world move. I got up out of my bed and decided that today was the day things changed. I started gathering people who wanted time to actually go and started to build a plan.
“This is stupid!” said Cole.
“So?! At least its logical! It isn't even possible to do your plan! How are we supposed to build a plane!?” yelled Brian.
“Guys! Shut up! We have a week before the time frame resets again!” I shouted. I was worried. Our memories stay forever but our bodies and everything around us seem to reset to the beginning of the week.
“Don't we need a ‘special’ person or what not to make this work?!” Brian asked. “How on earth are we supposed to find this person?!”
“MY GOODNESS, BRIAN, SHUT UP!!!” I screamed. Brian stared at me, he looks like he was on the verge of tears. “I'm sorry. Look, if we can just take the time capsule, we could find the right suitor.” Brian wiped away his tears.
“Easier said than done,” said Cole. Cole wasn't the most positive person in our group but he has mechanical skills we could only dream of having. Brian is a very rational and logical person. He would come up with ways to get around things. However, Brian is more on the sensitive side and his feelings could get in the way of thinking.
We were so close to finishing the plan. Once we do, we'll jump in action right after the time resets again.
“It’s heavily secured so if we could just make a diversion and manage to sneak past, we could make progress.” Brian said.
“If we take the vents, we could avoid any cameras and alerts. However, there's the risk of the wind actually going and the fans could cut us if it's on.” I said.
“We just have to hack the system long enough for us to steal the time capsule.”
“What happens after we steal it? Go on a wild goose chase to find the right suitor?!” Cole said.
“Yes. It doesn't sound like a good plan but we don't have much of a choice.” Brian said and sighed.
“We just have to find the person before the time resets!” I said excitedly.
“Yeah. We have to do it before they notice and catch us, too” Cole said. We had about two days until the time would reset again. Of course we had to test it out at home and make sure everything was perfect. Everything has to go accordingly. Things were going to change.
The time just reset. The first day was rainy like always. Everyone went to school, to work, to go somewhere, anywhere. Cole, Brian and I had tested nonstop the last two days in the last time frame. Today was the day we started the plan.
“I want a family!” Shouted a woman. We had some of our family and friends who supported us help out. The majority of the town was sick of nothing new.
“Please calm down. We can change anything. It could cause war and harm to everyone.” Said the security.
“I want to have kids! Am I supposed to stay forever alone? Am I never going to have a family? Am I going to be here stuck in this horrible place forever?” Yelled the woman. A herd of people started to join and a riot started.
“Nice! Now hack the system. Brian and I will infiltrate the building through the vents.” I said. Cole was tech smart and could also hack. Brian was strongly built. I was really useless. I had no muscles or leadership. I was just there.
“Time capsule should be on the tenth floor, last room on the left.” Said Cole.
“Just keep them busy,” said Brian. We climbed up to the tenth floor no problem.
“Do they only have men in the front to scare us?” I asked. The building was mostly empty.
“I don't know but don't let your guard down!” Brian said. This was way too easy. We went into the room where the time capsule was located. We walked in and the door closed behind us.
“I assume you are the brave souls that are going to find the right suitor for the time capsule. Good luck! As far as I know, the time capsule picks anyone in the world” The voice said. It came from a speaker in the corner of the room. I grabbed the time capsule and everything broke. The time loop shattered.
“It picks me?” I asked. Everything aged. We were stuck for nearly three years. Everything nearly collapsed. People started dying, people started aging, people started changing.
“What now?” Asked Cole through an earpiece.
“I don't know. I didn't plan this far. I guess I just keep it safe and pass it on like the others before us?”
“We lost three years off our life. People are dying. What do we do?” Ask Brian. The people started questioning whether what just happened is a good or bad thing.
“Maybe I could just-” the time capsule started glowing and everything faded. Brian managed to grab me.
“What's happening?!” Yelled Brian.
“I don't know!” We got sent back to when the country wasn't overthrown yet.
“Time travel?” Asked Brian.
“Messing with the past won't guarantee a good future.”
