I am from

the Pine Tree and Empire States

from cities full of green.

I am from

chance meetings in the workplace

and late night revelations in a bar.

I am from

hard work and cooperation,

winters as deep as I am tall;

from Garden - no, Golden - yes, Garden State,

from fresh picked fruits and veggies.

I am from

years of family traditions,

from sports and music and love,

coffee grounds and family dinners,

from just a little bit of luck.

Where I'm from is more

than old photos and home movies

stretching back to times long past

yet not forgotten.

And I still have places to go.
