Chapter 1 - The First Candidate
She is Christelle Arthurina Avaritia Marquisha the second child of the current king of of Avaritia. Her mother, Queen Armelle is from one of the four noble lines, who died giving birth to her. She has an older brother, crown prince Lucien but when he passed away, she moved out of the Royal Palace. Christelle now stays at the Royal Villa outside the palace to avoid politics.
Two months ago it was announced she would be the heiress to the Kingdom of Avaritia but the official announcement is on the ball in two weeks. Since then she attended weekly court meetings.
Christelle now stands in front of the mirror dressed in an elegant light blue dress with white embroidery on it matching her snowy white skin. With the aquamarine necklace and earring just to match her dress. Beneath the necklace is a thin silver chain with a locket and a ring on it. Her chesnut brown curls are brushed all the way down to her back.
Once the last brush was done she said, "Leave the paperwork on the desk and leave"
The servant who came in placed the paperwork on the table and all of them left. Once the door closed she stood up and said, "Let's start"
She took off the dress she was wearing and put on a simpler one. Then she sneaked out of the villa.
Christelle walked through the alley and out to the open. She kept walking and arrived in front of a women who was gardening. "Morning, Mrs. Connie" she greeted
The lady looked up and smiled brightly, "Lady Elle, how is your day?"
"Good, thank you" she replied
"What brings you to town today?" Mrs. Connie asked
"I am looking for someone" Christelle said smiling
"Ohhh" she said, "Who is it if I may ask?"
She leaned in and whispered, "A knight candidate." Once Christelle said it Mrs. Connie chuckled, "Well, good luck"
Christelle turned around and headed back to the crowd, it wasn't long before she found the person she was looking for. She turned around and found an alleyway, she walked into it and as expected thieves appeared. The leader said, "Give me all the money you have"
"No" she said weakly but loud enough for the person she wanted to come to hear
The leader walked up ready to snatch it from her that's when a sound came, "Stop it." The thieves turned around and found a man in the uniform of a knight, hands on his sword. Half of the group walked forwards and surrounded him, "Ohhh, what do we have here? A knight in shining armor" one said and the other laughed
The looks on the knight became darker, "Stop, I'll give you three seconds for you to put your weapons down and surrender"
The thieves ignored him and started attacking, he pulled out his sword to attack. The man attacked the theives and many fell to the ground, Christelle stared at him fascinated. He attacked them with the hilt of his sword instead of the blade. One of the theive panicked and went up and grabbed her as a hostage. She pulled up a deceptive smile. She then took a stepped forwards and attack. Before any of them could see it, they were already on the ground unconscious.
When she looked up the man was fighting of the last man standing. In one hit the man landed on the round. The man looked up and saw her. She curtsied and said, "That was very well done, Mr. Kaiser Danvers"
The man that came to her rescue is Kaiser Danvers. A senior in the Royal Chivalric Order, a three star knight. The first child of a Baron Danvers.
Kaiser stood there staring at the men that were unconscious around her. "Who are you?" he asked
"You may call me Elle. I'm a daughter of a poor merchant" she said looking around at the unconscious men around him, "You did quite a good job only using only the hilt and not the blade"
Christelle looked up and said, "Good job" and turned to walk away, "I will see you very soon"
She put on a smile saying in a lower voice, "You are worthy of what you are to have", walking away leaving a confused Kaiser.
When Christelle went back an old man was sitting on the couch in her study with a cup of tea in his hands, she curtsied, "Lord Ventrue" she greeted
"Princess Christelle" he said, "How was he?"
She walked and sat at the armchair opposite of him, "Just as said, I can see how they were friends" she said chuckling
"So?" he asked, sipping a mouth of his tea
"I will summon him here tomorrow" she said as she poured a cup of tea herself, "Anyway what brings you here to day?"
He took out a piece of paper and handed it to her, "The oath" he said, "And to talk about the ball in two weeks"
She took a look at the paper before she threw it onto the table and said, "I have said I'll leave it all to you"
"This is your coronation" he said with a sigh
Christelle stood up and headed to the door looking back just as she was about to leave, "I don't care" she said with a strict voice
With the name of the royal family I command you to put down your weapons"
