Split for Two
My tongue digs through
The ice cream
Vanilla sweetness
Cold and smooth
As it slides along
My palatte
And down the back
Of my throat
The tang of
Pineapple and strawberry
The lushness of
Chocolate
An orgy of
Rich delights
That make my taste buds
Rise with
Barely suppressed
Excitement
My teeth find
One end of the
Tender, creamy log
Buried in halves
Under the mountain
Of sweetened layers
I take a bite
And then another
Working my way
Along the length
Until my lips find yours
Somewhere in the middle
Our tongues lock
In the midst of
Licking the
Whipped cream
From each other's faces
Our mouths pressed together
So tightly
And in such delight
We almost forget
That there's a cherry
On top
To be devoured
Between us
As well
