They Call Me Princess
I used to be the most coveted tree of them all,
Because so quickly would I grow tall.
My blooms a gorgeous purple hue,
And yet I lost to you.
So small and insignificant,
Yet this praise made you overconfident.
I loved myself and the people did too,
But somehow I still lost to you.
Is it a crime to thrive?
Was it bad that I tried my best to survive?
I kill others in the process it's true,
Another reason I lost to you.
If weakness surrounds me, why is it bad to destroy it?
In this world, I survived because I was fit.
The scientists brought out information that was new,
That aided in my loss to you.
Are you happy that you saw Paulownia fall?
The Princess and Empress of trees and all?
That I was exposed in full view,
And somehow lost to you?
But I am a tree,
If I lose I do so royally,
Though I lost my spot to you,
I stood my ground and did not move.
