River of God
The canoe swayed as I watched the trout swim past us. My counselor sat behind me steering us through the calm river. Her voice sounded through the air as she sang a song that I didn’t recognize. Her voice mixed perfectly with the sounds around us. Water splashed up onto my bare legs, soothing the sunburn I had gotten. I asked her what the song was about. She told me that nature is constantly changing. We can’t stop it nor can we speed it up. We can try but I may or may not work. It’s all in God’s hands.
