Singing Mouses Lament
Cinderella, Cinderella, constantly a working won't you stop to listen.
O' listen to my tune.
For though I am a mouse that lives inside your house,
I have something big to tell to you.
If you would only listen then you would shortly learn,
That inside these walls your future waits for you.
For you see Cinderella your father was not a fool,
And he entrusted me with quite a job to do.
So listen Cinderella, just listen to me please,
Inside my home there waits for you a very pleasing gift.
The will the will your father left you see.
He made two copies one for his so darling wife and one of them to me.
He left it all to you my dear to do with what you choose,
Upon your sixteenth birthday it all was to be given to you,
But your step-mother O' that retch has hidden this so well.
And while she receives a stipend of your father's wealth,
She can not get her hands on the rest of the goods you see.
For your father was a sly one and gave it all to me,
To hide and wait for you my dear.
I have hidden them somewhere only I can find,
And I have waited all these years to tell you where to go.
For you are now sixteen and away from them you may flee.
So listen dear girl for your freedom is in reach,
Just listen for a moment I'm sure I could convince you to see the will is here,
And I know where the rest is,
You could leave this life behind and find your happiness.
No longer would you be a servant in your own house O' miss.
Listen Cinderella I can set you free,
But you must listen carefully and follow my instructions.
Your step-mother is the problem dear for she is such a witch,
I fear that if I were to tell she would see you gone,
For she has been looking O' so long for this treasure trove.
And has kept you all these years to find the riches your father left.
So listen to my plan and listen well darling girl,
You must first take your father's will and show it to his steward.
Have him help you and if this won't suffice go to the king and show them.
Take me with you dear girl and I shall bring with me
The will, the crest, and a letter your father left with me.
The king should help my dear girl but if he still does nothing then you and me shall flee. To my cottage we shall go.
And then we shall plan for what would you like to do,
I shall teach you and Show you how you can survive.
Then, I will bring to you some of your father's gold,
And we shall make for you a most inviting home.
So please dear girl come visit me soon and let me help you,
For I can not be seen by your sisters our step-mom.
So hurry Cinderella O' hurry and come speak to me,
For I will help you reach your destiny.
