Can you feel it comin’?
It all starts when we least expect it. I mean, at some point in life we anticipate a sort of change that has been waiting to befall. After being stuck under a strong web of wrong and right, and an even stronger yet at the same time extremely meek perspective of life, we are, almost magically, introduced to the ‘source’. The ultimate source to resuscitation.
It’s in human nature to demotivate not only others but one’s own potential of being successful. A very unnatural downfall or failure precedes the above mentioned trait. Sometimes it may take a life-long series of such events to model a perfect (illusion) human being. Other times they are just born (not really).
Let us first try to understand what success really means here. If we go by the literal meaning, it’s as clear as air, but behind every literal meaning, there’s an underlying one that’s waiting to be discovered by people like us. We love to read between the lines even when there’s only a very small, almost invisible circle. We often find ourselves seeking pleasure in complicating scenarios. Even a term as predictable as ‘success’, often becomes the most critically important source of life. Coming back to the ‘word of the day’, success can mean accomplishment, achievement, gain, profit, right, high, sky, earth, air, water, life, you and me. It’s as tangential as any word in the dictionary. Seems much better now, does it or not?
But why is this particular event important?
Why not? Would you rather brood over an extremely irrelevant episode of your life than be a happy member of the cloud family? If the answers no, well, this isn’t the right place for you.
What is this ‘source’? What does it look like?
This ‘source’ can take up any form, very likely to look like the things you despise or are allergic to (just kidding). Just like love, this source is in the air. Only love doesn’t have any more than 0 seats in the atmosphere. But this source does.
How do we know when it’s time for the ‘source’ to show up at our door?
Imagine this, you wake up after an extremely hostile night’s sleep, your life seems full of shit, completely messed up, you’re constantly having a bad hair day for what seems like a few lives now and your morning coffee or tea cannot handle the right proportion of sugar and milk. You sit your ass down on your IKEA expensive, not so comfortable recliner and prepare yourself to sip on your $100 worth, unworthy black mug, and the bell goes off. No, it’s just your nosy neighbour at the door to wish you a very crappy morning.
To be really honest, you’ll never know when, where and how. It could hit you when you’re acting out or being the life of the party. That’s trivial to the matter at hand. What’s important is how we welcome this source into our lives, open arms or not. Some of us may even act blind to the source, oblivious of its arrival and presence. You’re either lucky or The Weeknd, most unlikely, to ‘feel it coming’.
We don’t forever have to be a lost cause and we definitely don’t have forever to be sad or happy. Just know when it’s half-time and the right time to switch. Give them both a chance, being a little partial towards happiness.
