It all starts with a cell,
Floating in the dark,
Waiting for another to cast its spell,
So it can spark.
They come together,
Two parts, one whole,
And grow like fields of heather
Glowing like a burning coal.
Hands, feet, eyes, heart,
It turns and twists and kicks
Until the day it starts
To come to life, breath sticks
In its opened lips,
And it cries,
Alive.
