Killing Him With Kindness

I watched my monster

arise from the slab

unformed jello

shaking his flab.

I taught him how

to do monster mash,

he invited his friends

to have monster bash.

I was doing him

a big favor I knew,

he needed to slim down

to start anew.

Soon all the monsters

were doing the mash

it became a smash

caught on like a flash.

My monster lost

so much weight

became skinny

no matter

what he ate.

I fed him bowls

of mashed potato

but he remained

the status quo.

My monster died

doing what he liked best

doing the monster mash

with a smile on his face

as he went to his rest.

And now I take his place

doing monster mash

a graveyard smash

just takes a flash

with zest and dash.
