What Have I Done
"Is it true Eden?" Amelia's piercing eyes met mine, blood trickling down her cheek to meet her lips. With white knuckles I clutched my dagger, my eyes dropping to the floor of the forest.
"Eden!" Her voice was sharp. She demanded a truth from me that would shatter her heart.
"Speak! Did you kill my mother Eden!" Amelia drew the sword from her side, and stepped closer.
My lips parted as my heart caved, "I did."
Her sword fell to the Earth, and so did she. The sound of her sobs echoed off the trees, she was crying hard enough to wound my soul. What have I done.
I wanted to say something but nothing could make this better. She will hate me. She will kill me.
She finally stood, sword in her hand. I couldn't see her face because I had no strength to look at her. I kneeled, the cold soil against my knees. It'll be the last thing I remember.
"You killed her, and then you let me fall in love with you," venom soaked her voice, "you are sick Adith."
I winced as my birth name rolled off her tongue.
"I'm going to kill you," Amelia whispered. She was strong, and I made her strong. I'm sorry Amelia.
"I love you Amelia, I always will."
"You don't fucking know the first thing about love," she drove the silver blade through my chest as her words broke my heart. I finally met her gaze, cold gray eyes. Her grip no longer on the handle of her weapon. I pulled it from my heart, blood pooling in the palms of my hands.
"I'll die faster this way, leave Amelia before they find us both."
"Rot in hell Eden."
