After the Storm
Leaving work, he contemplated whether it was finally time to quit or to persevere. Today was no different than the usual work day. Walking towards his car, he found it covered in spray paint, with all sorts of profanity, and all four tires were flat. 'What a happy life I'm living' he thought sarcastically in his head.
He wasn't the type to see the negative in every situation, but these days were more miserable than usual. He left the car behind and walked his way home, to clear his thoughts and before he knew it his chest was heavy and his eyes were watery. Being alone in these situations was ideal to him, as he hated people seeing him this weak.
He entered his house only to find his sister and nephews waiting for him. The youngest girl ran over to her favorite uncle and gave him a wrapped present. It was his birthday. As his tears starting flowing from the mixture of depression and overwhelming happiness, his nephew wiped his tears away. Walking towards his family, he wiped the rest of his tears and put on a smile.
"Somethings, you can only appreciate after a storm..."
