What Changed ch 1
What changed was her soul, her mind-
the base of who she was.
The once sweet girl with sandy blonde hair, fair skin, and warm hazel eyes no longer held the fire that burned so bright it could warm even the coldest of people. That fire was slowly stoked out, and what stood in the place of a young girl with a dream was a young woman with deluded goals drilled into her brain for years to come. The start of it all was when she was invited to an organization that seemed almost therapeutic on the outside; what lie on the inside was the horrors nobody should face.
Death's Missionaries welcomes all!
The gothic, yet quite gorgeous, flyer was stuck to a coarkboard in the loal grocery store. Angelica's eyebrows shot up in surprise as she plucked off the flyer. The adress, with more info on the back was seen. For the past three years, she hadn't worked out as a Hero. It was a job that was taxing, and more often than not she was in the hospital. Excuse after excuse was something she grew tired of, and since then, she was a normal 19 year old.
After checking out, she walked home, her eyes on the flyer- that is, until she smacked into someone and fell onto the hard sidewalk. Her confusion was apparent as she felt a hand hoist her up, apologizing profusely. "I am so sorry! I didn't see you, and I was in such a rush, I'm so sorry!" The woman said, embarrassment evident on her bright pink cheeks and sheepish grin as she picked up the fallen groceries. Angelica laughed slightly, a bright smile on her face. "It's fine, honestly. The eggs are fine and the veggies are good; no harm done." Angelica said with a friendly grin. She went to grab the flyer, and the woman noticed. Pretty green eyes lit up in an excitement. "It seems someone's interested. My name's Katherine Jordan. I'm one of the preachers there. Just go to the address there, and you should find a large church with a couple of apartment complexes off to the side. Call me at 410-382-3429. I hope to see you there, um... Pardon me, i'm so rude! What's your name?" Katherine laughed, her perfectly manicured hand running through silky chestnut hair to conceal her flustered and excited state. "Angelica Yussel." She replied, noticing her smiling fading and surprise obvious in her expression. "Relatives to Jason and Lee Yussel?" Said Katherine, her eyes still showing surprise. "Yeah..? I-I am, but, why are you asking?" Angelica looked to the woman, who smiled softly. "Jason and Lee are my cousins three times removed. Nice to meet you. Make sure to call, sweetie!" Katherine said as she walked off, leaving Angelica surprised.
Brushing it off, Angelica walked back to her apartment and put away her groceries, looking at the flyer in interest afterward. What was so important about this place? Was it because she could, just maybe, become part of something big? After clearing her head from the thoughts, she tacked the flyer on the wall and called the number. The next day, she was soon integrated into the church. The next two years to come would be hell for her, with mind boggling tasks that hardened her heart and encased it in thick ice that made her blood run cold. Angelica would make the world see her talent- her icy determination. Nothing would stop this young woman.
Even if it meant she had to destroy those she held nearest and dearest to her heart.
