At this I turn away

from this play

to get me stay

through honeyed lies

and clever alibis.

I must strive

to keep this dream alive

no matter the sense

or pretense

of giving up

even if it saves me pain

I'll refrain

from giving up

I'll be wild and unruly

because I'm only done truly

if I give up.
