New Year, New Me
Progress, not Perfection
A friend told me what their mantra for the New Year was. I have to say, it's a great one and I'll probably adopt it as mine, too.
"Progress, not perfection."
We are all perfectionists when it comes to New Year's resolutions, and that's not a good approach because when we fail, we just quit. Instead of beating yourself up for eating almost an entire pint of ice cream (when you're starting that diet), take pride in the fact that you didn't eat all of it like you normally would have. That's progress.
Or even though you can't forcr yourself to exercise for thirty minutes, at least you did ten. That's progress.
You can't just get perfection. Progress and hard work builds up to that.
