Darkness Covered Me

I want to tell you a story

of how my life changed.

From being the perfect mom and daughter.

To a person totally duranged.

I trusted my daughters word

of no intercourse at fourteen.

But when the doctor confirmed

she was pregnant, I had a silent scream.

Darkness covered me

from the top of my world to my toes.

The deceit I saw in my child,

showed me that anything goes.

That my child would lie to me

and not care how I feel.

But the look of disappointment on my face,

showed her it was real.

It wasn't the fact that

she had a seed growing inside.

The fact was she didn't finish high school,

so how could she provide?
