it's been quite the roman moment since we

speculated over our spectacles

(being so seriously entertained)

though scoring zeros in the numbers game

...yet instead of owning up and folding

(as our pecuniary interest wanes)

we toddle single file towards some "system,"

curling ourselves up above its drain, where

Law & Order hold a hose to the brain
