Invisible

What color can I give to tears,

when tears have long left my life?

Emotion doesn't rise up these days.

But remembering back,

they were tears the color of salt,

bitter, yet tangy to the taste.

They have been silver,

glistening like a summer's day,

from laughing at friends antics.

Once upon a time,

they were red and callous;

anger made them that way.

Now, they are what they are.

Empty. Gone. Invisible.

None left to remember what was.
