What Heartbreak Has Taught Me

Heartbreak is a teacher.

Each break hurts differently,

Each scar unique.

I could recall for you the story of each.

For a certainty, each provides a lesson to teach.

What I have learned is this

Love has led me to forgiveness.

Love has led me to acceptance.

Love has covered all the hurt.

The Pain has taught me.

The Pain has left me breathless, restless, and numb,

But the unyielding optimist in me

Refuses to die.

When I don't want to get up

Like a phoenix I rise.

I have learned from my heartbreak

that there is still Hope.

If there is even the dullest spark

You can survive with a broken heart.
