Lost childhoods

We were just kids we weren't supposed to be heroes... but somewhere along the way we were forced to step up. Us and our emotions took the back seat so we could save everyone else. We pushed our shit to the backs of our minds and fought battles that we were not prepared for. All the while we fought our hardest battles by ourselves. Our emotions became a pill here and a drag there anything to make them go away. We got lost in the dark of the night with bottles of whiskey and pills. And when our worlds crashed around us it was our faults. We weren’t supposed to be heroes so soon... we were supposed to be kids.
