Shall we dance? Rhyming poem no more than 248 lines. (A Prose Gold for a Month Scholarship Challenge)
Shall we dance?
For most the melody and the beat
Are a chance to simply move their feet.
For children whose hearts feel deep and wide
Every tune’s an ocean’s pull at tide.
For the dancer trained with precision
Planned steps come without decision.
For you and me the dance is our life
Shall we tango as man and wife?
There’s not a greater joy than to move
This song played only for me and you.
Our waltz a mix of follow and lead
Taking turns to star, to lift, to bleed.
Until we’re dancing on air above
I’ll be your eternal partner, my love.
