Challenge
Challenge of the Week LXX:
Write a historical fiction short story, exploring a counterfactual, something that might have happened but didn't (e.g. "What happened after the U.S. lost the Revolutionary War?").
Winner(s), if any, will be featured on our spotlight, newsletter, and social media, and shared with our publishing contacts (that include Trident Media Group and Simon & Schuster).
Winners determined by the Prose team based on writing skill and creative edge.
Why didn’t you come?
The last of us lasted as long as we could. I wish we could have convinced the Americans to come in. If they had, this tyrant wouldn’t have won. He is the cleansing king and I am not ready to be cleansed. I mean it wasn’t perfect here, but we had freedom. Now there is none, and he was won it all. Even Russia is no more, and this will be painful I know it.
