I work with 'friends'
Yet call all 'foe'.
How can I trust
When they give no reason to?
A smile is often accompanied by
A knife in the back
In the form of a harrassing email.
They say they pray for me
Yet it's whispers I hear when I turn away,
Not platitudes and praise.
I work hard, keep my head down,
And my repayment is their apathy -
I can't win for losing.
Smiles and hate or cold shoulders and solitude;
Which is worse, when you work as team?
