You’re My Religion
Fuck me on the altar and we’ll call it Communion.
If we get bored we can move to the pews.
You can be my version of the golden calf,
And if it means I’m sent to hell for worshipping you instead,
So be it.
god is nothing compared to you.
Let me read your Bible so I can learn your life story,
I’ll learn to recite my favorite parts,
And you can learn to answer my prayers-
Though I’ll never be tired of kneeling in front of you,
Eyes closed and hands clasped.
Baptize me in your name
Under the sheets,
I’ll become yours forever.
I always had trouble keeping faith in god,
But there’s nothing I doubt in you.
I don’t find it difficult to capitalize the M in your name
I’d sing gospel on my knees for you
And crucify myself under your gaze. Let’s play confession in the dark
Then lead me to the holy land,
Which happens to be the second door on the right,
Where I’ll cleanse your sins with my tongue.
You could preach sermons between my thighs and
We could add our own book to the Bible.
While I’m on my back,
I’ll gaze at you like you’re my North Star
And I’m in danger of getting lost
(Truly, I am)
Your fingers are so long and graceful-
I’d let you write scriptures in places nobody’s ever touched me before,
In a language only we understand.
With every thrust,
Tear down my walls of Jericho;
Leave me vulnerable.
They say there’s only one way into heaven,
And I say it includes a condom and an hour alone with you.
You’re my religion; my source of faith.
Together, you’re a deadly combination…
But I’m afraid you’ve sentenced me to an eternity of damnation.
