Nautical
The rocky edge of the yacht yanked itself right and left as the dark color of green shone off to the beholder. It was finally time to take it out sailing. These few coming days were bright, the weather was promising, and there were no forecast of mishaps out at sea. Before any sailing was to be done, all checks needed to be made. So, down went the sailor into the motor to check for oil, fuel and to make sure the engine was running smoothly. The sailor called to his mate to start the engine. He started it and the sailor observed as the the motor pumped water in and pumped water out, and the rudder had a smooth sound. The next step were the supplies. In all event, the supplies the event should be enough to last for some considerable time, even if they were all not used up. Most of the supplies had to be dried good that stay boxed and canned for a long time without going bad. There also had to be quite a supply of beverages, specially water, and sweetened ones that could keept the blood sugar level high. The trip could not be complete without the medical kit and a medicine cabinet needed in case of emergency. Afterward, radio commuication was establised to be working. Finally, a report was made to the coast guard with the yacht's specifications and license in order to set out to sea. One last step was to have a cleaning crew come on board and have all the surfaces and indoor cabins thoroughly cleaned.
The next day, the sailor in t-shirt and shorts, with sunglasses and cap, sat at the control of the yacht. He started the motor then he jumped at the rope holding the yacht to the dock. He untangled it and threw it to the mate who caught it smiling at the sailor as he waved at him, symbolizing in the air the appearance of a big fish. The sailor smiled and saluted at him. He pushed the lever of the boat and started charting his yacht carefully out of the dock. It made a purring sound as it went slowly through several other yachts just parked there waiting for their owner to take them out sailing. The sea was a forest green color, and as the yacht picked up speed, the whites of the water appeared in a prism form. He looked out at the sky and the seagulls and pushed the knots of the boat further, and sped into the open sea. He felt the rush of the wind against his skin as driplets of water went up against his face. "What a rush!" he thought.
Somewhere towards midday, he found a spot where he could anchor the boat and relax for a while as he thought about life as he knew it. So many people are not able to live the kind of freedom that he is able to live now. He is surrounded by open sea. In some paradoxical terms that should feel like a prison. There is no one to come to your help should you need it as soon as you want it or call for it. No one senses or maybe even cares for your presence, yet for all this confinment, man is as free as the birds in the sky, and the fish at sea. He looked down from his boat and saw different sizes of fish swimming near the surface. He got hungry. Maybe now it's time to fish and have lunch with the catch of the day.
