A nightmare
I reached home late at night. My family was at my grandma's, leaving me home alone for the night. My eyes hollow but my stomach over-stuffed from the party. I dawdled about my normal routine and laid down on the bed waiting for the soothing blanket of sleep to shroud me. Just as i was drifting into sleep suddenly my leg was pulled against my head, i sprung in fear and found myself gasping and panting on my bed. I felt relieved , it was just a nightmare (or so i thought it was). I looked to my left and right , forward and behind but didn't recognize any of the surroundings. An uncomfortable premonition of fear pervaded my senses. My heart started thumping and sweat blinked from my eyes. My non-paranoidal mind wanted to believe it was just a delusion, but everything felt so real. The howling wind rattled the windowpanes in the bitter, damp night outside. I was stuck in a hollow, ominous and shadowy room. Fear ensued from every corner of the room.
In all the strickening silence, a deafening thunder cracked and then everything went from silence to paranoia. I started to hear people screaming , everything in the room started to shake vigorously sending shivers down my spine. An evil laughter tittered all over. Terror held me in a vice-like grip. My teeth started to chatter, eyes wide open afraid to blink in the darkness, sparks of isolation and suffering all twisting and twining to form each strike at my heart. For a few seconds silence prevailed, dreading the respite , the twisted feeling of fear grew with each flicker of the eye.
Again the silence was broken by a second thunder flashing light in my room and what i saw next made me jump out of my skin. My heart almost skipped a beat, my eyes frozen in a glassy stare of horror. It was a horrifying face of what looked like a beast from hell. It called out my name in a dreadful and omni-present voice and that was it..
I again found myself gasping and panting on my bed but this time i woke up in my room.
