I once had a dream

That our love

Would never end.

I dreamed that you

Would never

Grow tired of me.

But that dream

Has been given up on.

There’s no point

In continuing

To wish for you.

I had a dream

We would grow old

In each other's arms.

But that was a dream

Only one of us had.,

I may have

Given up on us,

But that doesn’t mean

I can’t think

Of what could have been

From time to time.

Just because I moved on

Doesn’t mean

I don’t miss you.

I miss you every day,

But we are no longer

A part of each other's lives,

And that is how

It has to stay.
