Waiting In Dreams
Deep scars and dark bruises concealed by shadowed veils
Underneath smothered secrets hinder battered details
The delusion of an eminent paragon must be endured
To obtain a decadent love that was once so innocent and pure
Searching for a sign of light in this infinitely dismal tunnel
Struggling intently to solve this intricate puzzle
Desperate to connect and be one pristine whole again
Hopelessly drained, delicate from obligations to pretend
Fate says I’m destined to be alone
Jaded and taken for granted
Your cold, apathetic tone
Has left me desolate and stranded
I long to be in love with you by some inevitable force
I plead and implore for the sublimity that dwelled once before
Hoping passion will be restored,
Gazing into each other’s eyes, feeling cherished and adored
But Mother Nature ignores my prayers and runs her own course
And as I realize I’m living a beautifully delusional dream, I will plead no more....
