Stalker Farms 1st Annual Horror Short Contest
I work for a haunt attraction in Snohomish WA called "Stalker Farms". It is an immersive experience haunt with story lines and characters, so we are looking for stories, back stories, tall tales, feverish recollections, bad dreams haunting memories... Write a horror story that creates a tale of horror around one, two, or all of the characters described herein. We will link from our Facebook to your entries on Prose to get you more readers! These are short stories, we are looking for up to 500 words max. Our staff will pick a winner. If anyone lives in Western Washington then we will comp tickets to anyone that enters a submission and wants to come out. The winner gets $100. Good luck! Write a story about any or all of the following characters: Suzie - The golden child of the Slasher family. She is spoiled rotten to the core. Her demented giggles taunt her play mates. Over 30 years old but she still doesn’t look a day over eight. Chuck - A butcher that takes a lot of pride in his cuts. He is known for his barbecue, just don't mind pulling a few human hairs out of your teeth. Make sure you don't complain or you will find yourself unlucky enough to be served next. Eski - No bloody sacrifice is enough to appease the terrible craving for blood demanded by this horror, born of a thousand tortured soul's tormented screams.

Greatest Wish

Deafening screams erupted through Eski’s ears. She rushed to consume the red liquid oozing out of the neck of the corpse that lies before her, hoping to make them go away. No matter how much blood she ingested, the demonic souls cried out for more and more. After a few minutes, the screams silenced. The girl shakily rose, wiping her hands on her already red soaked dress. Wiping her mouth on her sleeve, she examined the lifeless body in front of her. She felt guilty every time it came to this, but it’s what had to be done. The shrieks from the souls that reside in her tortured mind would only quiet down at the taste of blood, so she fed them.

Suddenly, a man’s voice echoed at the entrance of the alley. Eski looked around in a panic trying to find security in a hiding place, then her eyes landed on the dumpster towards the fence. She threw her body towards it and hid behind the large metal container holding her breath. Footsteps could be heard stomping on the concrete and immediately came to a halt with a horrified gasp.

“O-oh my god! Somebody, help!” The man yelled, his footsteps now racing towards the street. Eski peered around the corner of the dumpster and crawled over the fence as quickly as she could. The end of her dress tore, but she hadn’t noticed in the moment. Eski had now ran for three blocks and decided to catch her breath. Thank God it had been nighttime, otherwise her bloody attire would raise many questions. She made her way into her cheap apartment and locked the door immediately behind her. She felt as though she was being watched. She peeked out her window, then quickly closed the curtains. Nobody was there. Well, so it seemed. Exhaustion overtook her body and Eski fell into a dreamless sleep on her couch.

The next morning, she sat up and stretched. She caught a glimpse of red on her arm and realized she hadn’t showered from last night’s feeding. As she rose off the couch, she stopped dead still when laying her eyes upon a smiling man standing across the room.

“Good, you’re awake.” The man said, taking his back off the wall and stepping in Eski’s direction. She was frozen in fear. This only seemed to cause more joy for this mysterious person.

“You won’t suffer for much longer, girl.” She almost spoke up but then darkness overcame her vision. She couldn’t move. She couldn’t speak. Eventually, along wither her absence of sight, came ear-splitting screams. Eski wanted to cry but she couldn’t. The souls had overtaken her. But this is what she wanted, right? Her greatest wish was to never feed on a human again.
