Atop soil, Under sky

I have a garden

growing zuchini, lettuce, peas

i squat barefoot

to weed the plots

planting marigolds

that keep the skeeters away

dirt gets under my fingernails

cakes to my feet

and i believe

this is the way

i was meant to be

magic
