Begone.
Ding~dong. Prudence rose to her feet and marched to the door. The second her eyes fell upon her guest, lightning struck in the sky. She jumped & placed a hand over her chest. Her guest asked if she didn’t mind letting him in. She nodded her head. He walked right in, taking a while to step into her house. Prudence shut the door.
‘‘Is there anything that you’d like to drink?’’ Prudence inquired.
Her guest crashed on her couch and sniffed the air. Prudence stared at him.
‘‘Do you have any pets in this house?’’
Prudence shook her head. She offered him a bottle of rum. But he refused. Prudence told him to make himself at home. Then she moved toward her garage. Her car needed some cleaning.
While Prudence kept herself occupied, her guest left the couch. He checked all the rooms of her house. When he heard Prudence coming back into the living area, he dashed in a flash back to his former resting position.
Prudence walked into the living area, and found her guest still lying on the couch. He groaned once he had sensed that Prudence was close by. She moved closer to him and asked him if his head hurt. Prudence asked if he needed a massage, or medicine. His eyelids fluttered. He begged for a massage. She left him alone for a short while. Prudence quickly searched her cabinet for some pain killers, and essential oils.
Her guest got up, again. He moved past Prudence and moved to the basement. The only room left that he still had to check. He opened the door gently. But before he could check it~ he heard Prudence shout that she had found the medicine & essential oils. He made his way back in a heartbeat to the living area. Prudence placed the items on the table and handed one painkiller to her guest. He smiled, then told her that his head stopped aching. Prudence was bemused. This guy probably just hated taking medicine.
Her guest thanked her for her hospitality and then yawned. She handed him a blanket for the night.
As Prudence placed the medicine and essential oils back in the cabinet, she felt something creep up behind her. The moment that she turned her head, a paw with sharp claws sliced her throat. Prudence tried to crawl towards the guest. She failed to say a word. He watched his victim shift from her human form into a gremlin.
The guest wondered how much he’d be paid for this job. He pulled out his phone- and dialed his boss. The phone beeped, and buzzed.
