The key is to use one word in either a poem or your prose, and far be it from me to stop a short story from coming to the front of the line.
The word is: disguise. Play it any way you like, either in the title or somewhere in your write ... BUT, you can only use disguise once in your writing ... and PLEASE ... tag me in the comment area not on your written piece ... @Danceinsilence

Masks

I switch from mask to mask

A tailored face to match every occasion

Whether it be joyful or sorrowful,

Festive or morose

I have an expression for it

Act happy, smile, just go along with it

Don't show them what you're really feeling

No one wishes to see the real emotions

No one desires to stand against the truth

No one wants to see how my disguises are cracking by the day,

Bits of chalky plaster crumbling away

Reality shining through

As threads of sanity come undone

Every emotion, just a practiced mask I adorn

In the twisted masquerade called life
